"Rumor" about recovery

Talked to a guy that works for some fisheries in Alaska. Some kind of biologist and really seemed to know his shite. His opinion was that our marshes will actually aid in the recovery from the oil. He said that in Alaska the oil gets on the rocky beaches and just sits, but our marshes will actually help break the oil down. So when I asked him how long it would take to do that he said 10-15 years. Made me throw up in my mouth a little. Anyone else heard this?

I think it is all still a wild guess right now. Depends on how much oil has leaked and how long it is going to keep leaking.
Also, what the word "recovery" really means can vary wildly depending on what your def. of it is.

it won't be a quick process...that is probably something most people would agree on.

Well the warmer water will help with the break down. Also the oil is lighter than what was in alaska. problem is the size of the spill is much larger and continuing. Once we stop the oil, we will be alright. It's almost a wasted effort at this point to do any cleanup. All effort should be put into containment and stopping the oil flow.
