- Both are A&M schools like Auburn, LSU, etc..

- Culturally, Aggies and Clemson fans are football crazy on the level of SEC schools

- 14 teams is better than 16 (too damn many), and works fine with round robin and in-division plans well, still leaving room for other OOC games. 14 makes SEC cost competetive enough

- Clemson and A&M have SEC stadium sizes and experiences

- Clemson and UGA are neighbors and are already rivals, and USC-E and Clemson are obviously natural also

- LSU-A&M and A&M-Arky would be great in-division and natural rivals !

Yes, the Tx Legislature might poo poo it, but hopefully not

It would be GREAT

Would Clemson leave the ACC?

Clemson only makes sense from a cultural perspective, they don't get us into a new TV market. Thus, from a money standpoint, adding Clemson would be pointless.

As I've said before, we don't need three TIGERS and two DEATH VALLEYS!!!! GT makes more sense than Clemson.

I agree with adding A&M.

I actually like Texas AM and Virginia Tech. Quality programs in new markets. I don't want TX or OK-the SEC is already a superconference. Adding TX and OK would be too brutal.

Although getting TX and OK would put it to the PAC-10. THey need TX and OK because with the decline of USC, the PAC-10 is a much less important conference. I don't see what Nebraska does for the Big-10.

GT makes no sense either. UGA already dominates the Georgia TV market. The SEC isn't going to double down in states they already have a presence unless they have to. VT, WVU, or one of the North Carolina schools (although I don't think they are a good fit) would be much better than GT or Clemson.

The additions must bring TV ratings to make the money work. Clemson and Georgia Tech will bring nothing in terms of additional TV. I am not saying the following teams will come to the SEC but they make more sense financially due to increased viewer ship in new TV markets:

Miami
A & M
Texas
North Carolina
Virgina
Virgina Tech
Missouri
Florida State (maybe)

Bringing Georgia Tech and Clemson will not increase TV money at all and simply divide the money into two more shares.

Miami brings the least to the table. Terrible alumni base, and once getting trounced in the SEC, their product is worth nothing. Their fanbase are nationwide bandwagoners, once they lose, that is it.

There is a reason Texas A&M and Va. Tech are 1 and 1a for the SEC....tv markets.

They fit culturally, and both bring new tv markets.

That sure is a ton of maroon (yes, Bama, to the rest of the world, you are maroon).

True. Far better to lure North Carolina.

it seems more and more people are starting to understand why expansion is necessary. Its all about TV markets and always has been. Stupid post like these are slowly diminishing and more people are explaining to these idiots how GT and Clemson make no sense. But this is the first i've heard about how great it would be to add Ag schools. Why would that be a positive addition?

I don't think Texas A&M will divorce itself from Texas, anyway.

At this point, North Carolina, Duke, Missouri, and some mystery team make the most sense.

Kansas? All of a sudden the SEC would be a hell of a basketball conference, too.
