Your going to need more than "my uncle knows" to sell this theory....sorry
ETA: Your theory is no different than the idiots claiming they heard black hawks bombing the levees during katrina...
BP is already in enough hot water and are facing more PR damage than the cost of saving this well IMHO.

This makes no sense.
I will let those that know about the business take it and run.

Not selling anything. If you don't believe it then makes no difference to me.
He has been in many of the meetings in Houston. It's called buying time to not have to pay for the relief wells. It backfired on them.

Does your Uncle say exactly how the well could be shut down?
I bet not.
I bet not.

Uncle? Who said it was an uncle? Mud and concrete like what they are trying to do this week. If it works then the question is why didn't they try that first?

Total BS ! Schwaaz is well know for his BS thread.

OH really. If he builds slings, I bet I know who your relative is and who he works for.

They are paying to drill the relief wells no matter what.

Like I said they were buying time to figure out if they can fix it or capture the leaking oil. Why didn't they try to plug the well from day one if they were planning to drill relief wells anyway? Those relief wells can always be stopped.

Time will tell. I say this post is 100% BS. No way BP ever produces this well. If they were gonna produce it they would have put an extra BOP on top of the stack already. This well is not salvageable period.

So why didn't they mud it a few days or week into the disaster? It's possible my relative is wrong or BP screw it up but the post was not BS.

It's a crime that they could have shut it down and wait. Also a crime that Obama doesn't have the nuts to make them.
I dont know who you are or who you think you know but keep in mind...you never know who is reading this.

If they mud the well as you phrase it and stop the flow in the beginning, then they could have produced it. So that makes no sense at all. So why didnt they mud it in the beginning?
The longer they delay the less likely they could produce it by your line of thinking. The deeper the relief well are drilled and the more it cost them. These relief wells cost 1 million a day to drill times two. If they could just mud it and stop it, this would have been done long ago. The clean up is gonna cost them Billions so why didnt they mud it sooner?
Please come up with a viable conspiracy theory on your next venture into this realm.

If you believe your relative....then I have a relative that wants to sell you an oil well, in the gulf...he claims its a real gusher.

why this theory is complete BS:
1) the well as it stands now is most likely completely junked if in fact it did experience a catastrophic failure of the casing hanger or casing just below the BOP. that's basically impossible to fix and still end up w/ a producable well.
2) if the well could have been shut in w/ the BOP stack in it's current configuration -- i think 1 of the 11 men that are dead would have done that when they attempted to execute stack functions before the fire started (according to the testimony before congress
3) i'm sure BP is sitting there right now in their command center in Houston saying -- hey, screw the industry, screw louisiana, screw the US government, and screw our own self interest in continuing to operate in the united states, let's let this go on as long as possible, continue to ruin our reputation, ruin the reputation of the entire industry, risk having our existing deepwater production throughout the gulf shut in pending investigation, cost the shareholders billions of dollars in fines, and leave ourselves open to billions more in future litigation.

4) BP could have paid for the production platform and 20 wells drilled for it for the cost of this one incident.
