If they were so good last year why wasn't the record any better.

Of note to LSU is the number of North Carolina defenders on Steele's first team. End Robert Quinn, tackle Marvin Austin and linebacker Bruce Carter were three of the 12 players Steele picked for his first-team defense. Linebacker Quan Sturdivant made the second team.

Think the Tigers' offense had better strap it on come Sept. 4?

They need a reason to hype the first game of the year...if we go out there and take care of business then it shouldn;t bother you at all

Are you kidding me? With Les and the Wizard at the helm the offense will pass through UNC's defense like a hot knife through butter. Its a well known "fact" that all components will be better in 2010 and Shep will touch the ball on every play. I only hope the game comes down to a final LSU drive because that's where Les is at his best. "Clock? What clock? I got this shite timed in my head."

Come on, man. I don't need to be laughing at this type of crap.

FWIW, I think we beat UNC by a couple. CLM typically does well when we have time to prepare. And this team still has the talent to do good (if not great) things next year.

I'm thinking more like 09 against virtually everyone. Hey you don't build the 112th best offense in the nation without being consistent.

the amount of disrespect that has been imposed on LSU is sad, frustrating, embarassing, etc. for us as fans-I can not imagine being a player or even moreso a coach! Personally, I would right the ship or resign if I was at the helm. Before you say it- no shite, I'm not

Out of the 5 years Miles has been here he's had one bad offense....so it's not the norm like some of ya'll are trying to make out to be. I believe '07 was the best in LSU history.

better o-line = better offense

I expect a turnaround this year

Will find out quickly vs a very legit defense. Will be sink or swim most likely from game one this year. no more diet of cupcakes

Lost in all the talk about the UNC game is any discussion of Butch Davis. If I recall correctly, he's one of the coaches we've had on our short lists over the years. Anyway, if he's such a hot shite coach, do you really think he'll have done nothing at all to improve his team's offense over the off season? That he'll have made no adjustments to improve his team? If that's the case, a lot of us have vastly overestimated his ability as a HC.

Anyway, from the confidence expressed by some posters, I assume Butch Davis will not be a factor at all in this game—or, if he is a factor, it will be through stupidity and incompetence, which I'm always happy to see in opposing coaches.

I think this game will be nip and tuck all the way, barring a meltdown by one or the other. Low scoring defensive struggle. Hope I am wrong.

we are playing them in 2010. last years's team will not play for either team.

their best recruiting class under this HC are sophomores.
rivals #6.

I seem to remember Clemson getting a lot of preseason hype and then getting skull drug by Bama. Davis has stockpiled a lot of talent on that defense, but we've been exposed to that type of speed before. I kinda like how we are coming into that game a little under the radar. I really like us making a statement in the opening game that LSU is back, with play makers on both sides of the ball.

Well, there's always the field to settle this. Take care of business and they hype goes away.
