doesn't it suck that LSU probably will not be there for Rosenblatt's swan song? it just doesn't feel right that the tigers won't be a part of the group of teams to send it out in style......

The Barrett family bank account is gonna miss us all. I had a conversation a few years back with Mr. Barrett's daughter, Karen I think, who now runs the place. She told me how much more $ they make when LSU is in Omaha and it was unbelievable. I don't recall the numbers now though.

I've been planning on going even if LSU didn't make it. Last year in Rosenblatt. I am now reconsidering due to finances and work.

I wouldnt want to go and not win it all. I wish last year had been its final year and we could have the claim to fame we were the last team to win it all in Rosenblatt.

I'm cool with your thinking, but how about next year we bless the brand new stadium with #7!

isn't it better to be the first to do something anyway?

anyone else going this year regardless?

im all for it , and idk theres something more sentimental about being the last, as opposed to being the first.

i have been in omaha five times (luckily saw the tigers win it 3 times) .. one of those years was 2001 when the tigers weren't there .. i kid you not, the difference i saw in the crowds was borderline epic ..

when i go to omaha ..i go to omaha .. meaning i am there the night before the CWS starts and stay until the end .. it was challenging last year as it was my first three-game championship series to go to ... we were there for two weeks literally .. we go to barrett's basically every night ... and the place is packed with tiger fans as long as the tigers are there ... in 2001 i LOLed at the tulane douches at our hotel claiming their fans were going to take barrett's over ... i will give them credit .. all 12 of them gave it their best ..

I've been 7 times (97, 98, 00, 03, 04, 08 & 09) but I've never gone when LSU wasn't there. Many times my Dad and I have said we'd go regardless, but we never have.

Edited to correct years.

you really need to do it one time .. seriously .. it is a different perspective .. obviously, in '01 i expected us to be there .. and after the third super regional game against the wave, we just all decided "WTF" and went anyway .. but i rooted against tulane .. only state school i'll NEVER pull for ..

I was there in 96, 98, and last year, and I still can't believe we dropped two straight to USC in 98. Our team was stacked.

I may still go this year. I am just having second thoughts due to the expense. I can't pull for ULL either (I grew up in Lafayette).

98 was the year the wind changed and our HRs were suddenly warning track outs.

if you can swing it .. i would do it, you'd really enjoy it .. and if you go, wear your LSU gear .. they will treat you like royalty up there for coming without the tigers there ... of course, i am being a bad fan assuming we won't be there ... but i have my fingers crossed .. i have hotel reservations .. but will prolly not go this year if we don't make it ..
