Eskendereya earned a 106 and 109 beyer in his last two starts. Oh yeah, they were both under wraps. They were also the two best beyers of the projected field. Something flukey has to happen to beat this horse and in the Derby, that can happen. However my tri will start something like this: Eskendereya, Lookin at Lucky/?????/????? I love Johnnie V and I think Pletcher breaks through. Eskendereya looks the part and could become the next superstar. So in theory I see Eskendereya drawing off in the stretch, Johnnie V looking back for competition and seeing a bunch of jockeys :beatdeadhorse:

I feel psychic. I told 2 people last night that eskendereya had tendon issues they were tip toeing around. Told the bf to let me know how he moved in his work, and he just woke me up to tell me I was right. I wasn't goi g to bet him anyway...

And I've been a long time lookin at lucky fan, but there goes any price on him

So you know someone that works for TAP or were you just guessing. I can't imagine you noticed he was hurting when he was blowing out the last two fields. This changes everything. TAP is now talking about entering the filly. You might get more of a price on Lucky than you think. Hell Big Brown went off 5/2. Most of your casual Derby bettors will look and see Sidney's Candy beat him last time, and they have no idea of how much trouble Gomez got him into.

Nahhhh... Just being observant. He kept pushing his work back and I read something that said they were even shedrowing him in 4 wraps. That made me think the front wraps in the wood could have been a sign of something. When he didn't go yesterday as planned, even though the track was going to get worse, I dropped him from my bets. Rumor on the backside at Churchill is that he's done.

OK, that makes sense. I don't really put a lot of stock in the works leading up to the Derby, so i didn't know he kept pushing them back. Well, at least they are putting the horse first in this. With TAP being 0-24 he could have been selfish, had the horse burn up the pace for one of his others. I'm going to have to get to work on this, I've been on Eskendreya for months now, and now I guess, like everyone else, I'm leaning towards lucky. Should be an interesting week.

You're in ky, right? You going?

I spent hours last night drinking and rewatching preps and I confused myself even more. And, even though he's a total lunatic, I've loved Dublin forever. I made bf go watch works and report back, and he had a bit of a different take on the whole Dublin bolting thing. He said the horse noticed people on the rail and took off towards them, clearing out a few rows of seats :). Then he saw horses in front of him and took off after them. Hope he's that agressive in the race.

Yes, I'm in Lexington, No, I'm not going. I go tailgate at Keeneland next to the track Kitchen. Eat and drink my own stuff, walk inside the kitchen to bet, and have big screens up at the RV. Usually about 30 of us there. As far as Dublin goes, I'm out. My uncle has an interest in the horse and was really excited about him coming back from the lung issue, however his last 2 haven't been impressive to me. I am going to have to rework everything. I'm like you, I go watch all of the prep races and use that instead of the charts. I'm also a HUGE beyer fig guy for the derby. Of all of the derbys since War Emblem, the only winner not to have top 5 beyer numbers is that pig Mine That Bird. Even Giaccamo was top 5.

I used to have a horse show in lex on derby day, so I'd usually watch at keeneland. Fun times. Gonna try my hand at having a derby party this time. We'll see how it goes.

Sooo confused this year but glad that Jackson bend may get in. He's pretty.

Wasn't he sitting at 21? That should lock him in. I'm sure we will talk this week. BTW, don't forget I have that Program hook up.

I need it! He's sill at 21 if all pletcher's go, but I doubt interactif will. Wish they'd put him back on turf.

Well, hell. Sometimes I hate how loyal I am. Dublin blew the turn this morning and was fighting with his rider :( if it was just a slow work I'd be ok because he worked great last week, but I think he's just gone nuts. Wonder if he'll even make it around the track? I'll still keep him in with lucky, just need 3 more for my box.

And I really hope backtalk gets in and gives Miguel a derby mount

All for insurance and to pay debts. If Alydar is born in any year other than 1969 or 1976 he wins a triple, in my opinion. He was the most snake bitten horse ever. You watch him run the big 3 and everytime you see a mistake that cost him, but then you also see where Cauthen starts whipping and Affirmed takes off.
