Smart move to leave early? Would he have gone maybe round 1 next yr? Or higher than what he will be picked at this weekend? im looking at it two ways, players like Mays dropping. So maybe he would have dropped next yr also. Or he could have been a stock up player, and slid somewhere in the first round if he had stayed. Especially with the talent ahead of him in this yrs draft. I have to think someone gave him some bad info. for him to declare early. Maybe Germans but i rarely get on here, so i dont know how much its been discussed.

I don't think Chad Jones is a first rounder anyway whether he stayed or not. He certainly has the talent but was inconsistant as a player, out of position often, poor coverage, late coming to help the corner, poor tackling. He wasn't the best safety in our own conference. Another year, maybe he could have improved his draft stock. I think he got some bad advice. Should have tested the water more before declaring. Poor pro day and combine performance didn't help.

Would have definetly benefitted if he would have stayed(dude is still learning the position). Only reason i think he left was because of the 2011 lockout rumor bullshite.

In my opinion, if you leave early and don't get drafted in the first round... you made a mistake.

It's important to remember that he has a kid to support now, which I think was the main factor in him leaving early.

Exactly...Jones could have tried baseball again, see how that went, and then get an entire season to work on his football game, maybe even improve that bench press

Your stock is not guaranteed to go up just by returning for your senior year.

Ive heard over and over how Jones gave "the worst interview at the combine of ALL TIME"

What does this even mean?

Just ask Early Doucet, Brandon Lafell, Ciron Black, or Charles Scott.
