Based on who we play and where, predict the Saints regular season record for next year. And possible post season record.

it's hard i can't see us "logically" losing

Take into account any realistic FA signings and your predictions for the draft.

well same here.
for as bad of a game that was for us..
it's unbelievable how we managed to get back into the game. we still had a chance with the ball in our hands last possession.. truly remarkable.

This is actually a relatively easy sked for a SB champ -- except for that bullshite Cowbitch game.
Playing the NFC West doesn't hurt...

Thursday 9/9- Vikings Win
-Even if Favre comes back, he'll have the old man, first game cobwebs. If he doesn't, we blow them out
Monday 9/20- at San Fransisco Win
-Please, they haven't had a QB in a number of years, and their secondary is only getting older
Sunday 9/26- ATL Win
-Still have too many problems on defense
Sunday 10/3-Carolina Win
-Matt Moore is not their answer for QB, and they are gonna miss Peppers a lot more than they think
Sunday 10/10- at Arizona Win
-Matt Leinart? Beating us? HAHA next
Sunday 10/17- at Tampa Win
Freeman is progressing, but not enough and losing Bryant takes his main passing option away
Sunday 10/24- Cleveland Win
-This team is in shambles. Delhomme with NO receivers to throw to, their best defender (Shaun Rogers) may still be suspended (like that really matters though)
Sunday 10/31- Steelers Win
While Roethlisberger is likely to stay, Mendenhall has to carry the team, and now he only has an aging Hines Ward to throw to
Sunday 11/7- at Carolina Win
-See above
Sunday 11/14- Bye Win we're so good we even win during our bye...okay just kidding
Sunday 11/21- Seattle Win
-Carroll is gonna find out the hard way why college coaches don't do well. Also, who do they even have anymore?
Thursday 11/25- at Dallas Loss
-I didn't think they had a chance last year, but dominated that game. They have some holes to fill, but I think they do nicely enough
Sunday 12/5- at Cincy Win
-While this team is getting better and better, they just don't have enough in their secondary to stop us
Sunday 12/12- St.Louis Win
-Sam Bradford, see what we did to Mark Sanchez last year
Sunday 12/19- at Baltimore Win
-They would have to grind the hell out of the clock to stay with us
Monday 12/27- at ATL Loss
-I think with Atlanta at home, and probably in the thick of the playoff hunt, they are going to come all out
Sunday 1/2- Tampa Win
-See above
I've got 14-2, saying that we play our starters through the whole season. If it winds up like it did last year, I say 13-3 in that we lose to Baltimore at the end
Posted on 4/21/10 at 6:25 am to lsutigerfan1976
11-5 or 12-4 and that's being generous to other teams sake!!!

Two games in December in cold weather stadiums is not our cup of tea. We should have home field wrapped up by the time we play the Falcons and that spells "resting players".
Expect to hear the same crap as last year when we go 1-3 in December and lose 4 of the last 6; also expect Brees & Co. to use that negativity to motivate the team to the next level.
12-4

screw it we run the table...and repeat as SB Champs....

I'm not on specific game predicting until after the team is set. Sharper back or not, draft shakeout, final roster, etc
Broadly though it looks like a primed win big earlier grouping...
-Opener advantage with Starcaps, I'd roll in laughter in Lord Favre retired (nope, not gonna take that pounding again! I got a grandbaby to change diapers for.)
-Long rest for Favored MNF
-then 4 of 6 at home, one road at TB ya gotta pencil W and GW might have fun with Leinart at AZ
-That could be 8-0 and prolly needs to be 6-2
-at Carolina (hoping another rebuild year)- BYE- at Seattle isn't a bad stretch either. Potential 10-0, 7-3 minimum needed
-CUZ short week Thanksgiving to Atlanta MNF is the brutal 4 of 5 road stretch. Cold Cincy and Baltimore with only a Rams at home reprieve. 3 wins out of those wouldn't be bad, 2 not unbelievable. High end after that 13-2, low 9-6.
Fortunately if the last game means anything we have TB at home. The NFL still has the parity working! 10-6 might only be a wildcard, 14-2 certainly #1 seed bye.

Pretty bold prediction. One injury to Brees and your season is finished.
Posted on 4/21/10 at 7:53 am to BrSteelerfan
Injuries are usually a lot less predictable than suspensions at least
Good luck with fat sandLEFTwich versus Atlanta and the Titans.

Just speaking from the past few years experience, happy boy. I am telling you-it will frick your season.
Posted on 4/21/10 at 8:09 am to BrSteelerfan
just as a note related, the Saints last year had the third most IRed players in the NFL. 2 of the 4 draft picks, starting Left Tackle, their only real fullback, starting DT, etc. Both starting cornerbacks were out for large chunks and much at the same time. Depth and coping with injuries is a vital part of NFL success.
Posted on 4/21/10 at 8:12 am to blueslover
I agree. But, when you lose LEADERS, Polamalu, for example-it changes everything. The defense wasn't the same.
Posted on 4/21/10 at 8:29 am to BrSteelerfan
Agree with that. Some are more LEADER by need and some by performance. Not many NFL teams could lose their QB starter and have +.500 expectations. Mentioned the Saints IR's cuz LT is one of the top 4 most vitals. Losing an All Pro there and plugging in a guy that had little game time and no starts, and winning the SB was no small accomplishment. The CB loses were significant too. The team stats are skewed terribly cuz of those loses. Pre-CB loses the Saints were rolling top 10 D. They went downhill bad after that. We were fortunate that they both were able to get back full bore in the last couple of weeks of the season.
