Takes a lot of heat from people on here but he did his job last night eating up six innings. Even though it wasn't the best performance he got it done and deserves a little credit

were you even at the game... they were the equivalent of the bad news bears. He deserves the heat... had that been Southern Miss, we would have been killed.

i dont know what you're laughing at. The dude battled and ate up a much needed six innings. It would have been easier to keep getting shelled and not get through 3.

battled? you can just throw this term around loosely like that. dude went in and got shelled but because we can score runs, he was left in. We lose to every SEC team with an outing like that.

i watched the game. I'm just saying things looked bad midway through the 2nd and it could have hurt our pen if he didnt get through those innings. And they weren't quite as bad at the plate as defensively

he gave up 5 runs to one of the worst teams i've ever seen play lsu. he's terrible plain and simple, has absolutely no business playing against sec competition or anyone really for that matter

I'm not saying that we dont. But it was a midweek game and his job was to save some arms and he got through 6 which was good enough. And he did battle back compared to how things looked in the 2nd

Yea he might not be an SEC caliber pitcher. Im not saying he is. You're missing the point. He is obviously struggling but found a way to get his job done. Alcorn St. is terrible and Alsup has not pitched well but he got his job done period.

He did his job,but the guy is a 6-8 era guy in JUCO, so you kind of know what you have to score, and the Offense came through.

i think you're underestimating how bad alcorn really is. a lot of pitchers can "battle" against a team like that. a decent pitcher would have shut them down and not even gotten in a hole like that.

Why do LSU fans love to bash on the young men who play for LSU? If you don't agree with the original post, you can ignore it. But because the kid had the audacity to make LSU's team some are going to bash him for not being All-American caliber.

Negatigers are out in force this morning.

All this HATE for an LSU player who ended up pitching 6 full innings and winning the game....

I agree he got the job done. I'm glad he was pitching against Alcorn -- they are terrible.

If PM wants to see him on the mound, I support that decision, even though it seemed bad at times last night. But Alsup also had a lot of K's.

Ill give you this, he did do his job. Now that job was to limit one of the worst baseball teams ever to less than 10 runs and set the game up for a comparibly bad pitcher in Lassuzo to close it out.

The guy is not good and he has a small place on this team. Eat up innings against terrible opponents so we dont have to use our good pitchers.

No I call that knowing what you're talking about. The guy did what he was asked of, but he should never pitch against SEC competition and if you think otherwise you arent a positiger, you're an idiot.

no one is bashing him for not being an all american, they're bashing him for not even being a serviceable pitcher, and what are we supposed to paint rainbows on shite just because they play for lsu. give me a break, this message board is intended for banter, not for solely for sunshine pumping.

This message board is not meant to bash the young men and women that play athletics for LSU. I'm not a sunshine pumper, I just don't agree with verbally attacking a young athletes abilities because he isn't as good as you want him to be. As I said before, if you think a player is terrible, keep that to yourself and don't go plaster it on a message board. Your attitude is "How dare he try to play for LSU, he's not very good." Well he made the team, he works hard at practice year around. That is not something to be ridiculed for.
