Everyone has their opinion.
We are going to be some greatly feared team this year?
Not with the offense that I saw last fall and this spring. Not with the weak trench play. I saw some really weak middle DL play and terrible OT play on the outside at the Spring game. It starts in the trenches.

You're trying to make profound observations about a Spring Game and it's ruining any credibility you're trying to build. Could it be that the interior line looked bad because our starting DTs didn't play in the game? Could it be that our tackles looked bad because Barkevious Mingo was an unstoppable force in that game?

A Spring Game judges parity on a team. The only thing it can tell you is whether LSU's offensive line is better or worse than the defensive line. It cannot determine whether the offensive line this year is better than last, whether this offensive line is better than any defensive line in the SEC, or anything other than what is featured on the field.

Our QB play has been abysmal.

How about going to the OK State board and asking the question? Talk to some OK St fans.

If TX does not lose their QB at the start of that game, AL may not have run away with it.

What is our 2 year SEC record? 500% - we are a break even SEC team. Record against FL, AL, OM the last 2 years is 0-6. Throw in Ark and we are lucky to be 1 - 7. [/quote]

I can humor myself and state that winning 5 times the number of games that we play is fantastic, or I can humor you and point out that our SEC record improved from 3-5 to 5-3. I can point out that Alabama and Florida will be weaker this year, that Tennessee has a first-year HC, etc etc. and that we should go at least 6-2 next year.

It is easy to ignore what type of program Saban took over. Too bad we never got to see what Saban would have done the last 5 years if he stayed.

You mean a program that was primed for development and consisted of good-not-great recruits but had severely underachieved due to a lousy DC?

None of us would be having this discussion. We may have ended up dominating the SEC instead of taking a step back the last two years. We might not be talking about a team that is unable to put pressure on the QB or a team unable to run the ball.
LSU would probably still be knocking the snot out of our opponents in the trenches and on defense.

Let's see what happens in the fall. Funny thing is that this same discussion was going on last year at this time. The answer was still the same - let's see what happens in the fall.
But for the contract that Skip gave Miles - he might not be at LSU right now.

Funny thing is that after the 2008 season, the concerns were with the defense and Jarrett Lee. In 2009 we saw a defense that ranked 11th in the nation in scoring defense and a new starting QB. You act as though Miles is oblivious to all the problems with the program.. when he made an effort to fix those from last year.

Problems in 2009? The running game was a big one and the quarterback was another. What did Miles do? He has been given a great number of carries to a freshman running back, rearranged the offensive line to make it bigger and faster, brought in two other highly regarded running backs, and opened up competition at every position in the offense.
