Hey guys I know some of you all are regulars in Omaha, where do yall recommend staying up there?

I had a room last year in downtown Omaha, and it was EXPENSIVE, plus, it was still a drive to the games. If I do it again, I’d like either a room within walking distance of the ball park, or just get a room on the outskirts of town that would be a lot cheaper.

Last year I heard from several locals that lots of yall go every year, regardless if the team is in the tournament or not so I knew this would be the best place to ask!

TIA

This. We stayed at the brand new Microtel Inn & Suites in Council Bluff, Iowa. The hotel is much, much nicer than it sounds. It was only around $130 night.

The best thing I hear is if you have a friend who has an RV or you have one yourself. That would be very fortunate to have and not everyone can get access to one, but do some searching and sell it to a friend who has one to accompany you with it. Offer to pay gas, etc, etc.

Not a regular, but when I do go up there I have an uncle that lives just across the Iowa state line in Crescent. It is between Omaha and Council Bluffs. We stay at his house, so never had to worry about a hotel.

Omaha is a long drive just to look for a place to sleep, but if that's your criteria try Council Bluffs. Otherwise, find out where the team is staying and get a room there. Last year we were at the Embassy Suites, same as the team, and got to celebrate at the hotel right along with them. It was expensive but the experience was worth it.

i think i paid around $160 a night at a damn laquinta in west omaha. i know they have some BS fee/tax they add to the room. They make it impossible for the average joe to stay the entire time. We went to the first two games then came home. According to the locals next year in the new staduim will not be fan friendly[price wise] parking will be expensive and no green areas. concrete jungle from what i saw.

There are no good hotels in walking distance to Rosenblatt. I'm not sure if that will change with the new stadium in 2011.

I stayed at a camp ground about 15 minutes from the stadium in Iowa... It had showers, toilets, and it only cost my group $12 a night...

The casinos...or Lake Manawa State Park.

We took my dad's travel trailer up there last year and stayed at Manawa for the full two weeks.
