In round 12, I take my favorite pick so far:

A.J. Derby out of Iowa.

Ht:6'4"verified
Wt:218 lbs verified
40:4.88 secs verified
Bench Reps:6 verified
Shuttle:4.5 verified
Vertical:30 inches

Has good height, wide shoulders, long arms and very athletic legs. Basketball keeps him fairly lean so he has no bad body weight. At first glance, he looks like an athletic tight end or even a huge outside linebacker.

Needs to find a position he fits into. Right now, he wants to play quarterback, and he is very inconsistent with his accuracy and release point. Luckily for him, he plays about every position on the field in high school.

He is a very versatile player that could project as a linebacker, safety, tight end, dual-threat quarterback or H-back at the next level. He has very good speed for his size, body control and hands.

He projects all over the field, but I have stated 1,000 times that I love having HS QB's on the defense. I also like having my Mike LB as the captain of the defense, so this is a perfect fit.

frick, Flask!

I was hoping he'd keep sliding because he's semi-positionless. Kid is very, very underrated IMO. Great athlete.

From what you are saying, he reminds me a little bit of Kellen Theriot. Although I'm sure Iowa will find him a position though where Theriot got lost at LSU.

This is one of the reasons I like this draft. I would have never heard of this kid otherwise. Now if he becomes a big time player I will now his back story.
