With the 144th pick in the Tigerdroppings Recruiting Board Mock Draft, OBUDan selects:
Demetrius Wright
With DBs flying off the board, I needed to secure myself at least one cover corner. Wright has the size I covet (6'1, 185) and while many think his home is at safety, I like his size and athleticism to be a big, physical corner on the outside. He's got great wing span to press receivers at the line and the speed to play bump and run. He's got the height and jumping ability to match up with bigger receivers. Like Dorsey, he could play S or CB, so I'll see how the draft shapes out to determine that.

With the 145th pick in the Recruit Mock Draft, Suntiger selects Texas defensive tackle Ashton Dorsey.
I was really hoping to land Brent Benedict at OT, but with him off the board, I went to the other side of the ball and selected a very talented player who I see UT using in a lot of diffrent spots and situations. He's a bit small and going to a team who is stacked along the defensive line, but his speed and skill set should allow him to see the field after a redshirt year and he should be relied upon and have ample opportunities as a Jr and Sr as UT has already wraped up most of their 2011 signing class with no similar DTs. Ashton will add to a very fast and athletic definsive front with previous draft picks Christian Jones at DE and Josh Shirley at OLB.

With the 153 pick in the Tigerdroppings RB draft, TSB4L selects:
Matt Milton - WR (Tennessee)
6'6, 192
4.57 40yd
After watching his film and seeing his measurables, I think Rivals missed the boat ranking him no. 18.
I favor the taller receivers and although he is a little taller than I'd like, his skill is undeniable. He seems to have good vision and makes good cuts, judging from his play at Wildcat QB and on WR screens. I also liked his willingness and ability to catch the ball at it's highest point on jump balls, even when he had the corner by a good 5-6 inches.
With the lack of depth at WR at UT and his early enrollment status, he is a guy who could see early time. It all depends on whether he can hit the weights and gain 20-30 LB's and keep his speed.

TIGER PHANATICK selects: Aaron Benson, LB
Great pick by him. Guy I was hoping would fall to me.

161.) DeAndre Hopkins CB/S-Ultra athlete who could play at a high level on either side of the ball as a defensive back or receiver. Tall, long, and good speed for his size. Covers ground quickly and plays the ball very well in the air, though transition from backpedal could use some strength added to it. Tough enough to make a play in the running game, and very aware in both aspects of his game. Should see the field early in college on special teams.
162.) Darious Cummings DE/DT-Cummings is a bit of a tweener today on the defensive line, he has DE size today, but a higher ceiling at DT. The weight and strength should come relatively easily. He possesses an excellent first step which allows him to wreak havoc in the backfield. He uses his hands extremely well at the point of attack and has enough speed to make tackles when trailing the play. -Geoff Vogt

DJ Morgan - RB (USC)
5'11, 175
4.42 40yd
I need a RB, and this was my original pick, Barr just seemed too good to be true. Morgan has great running skills and could be used in the backfield, slot, and/or return game. USC is stacked with guys like him, including Baxter in this class, but I'm very impressed with him and I'm confident he will find a way to get onto the field.

Just hand me the trophy boys.

My offensive players compliment one another perfectly. Cam is the perfect dual threat qb. Mack Brown can go inside/outside and has the speed to take it all the way. Bryant is the complete receiver. He combines the speed to stretch the field with the courage to make the tough catch over the middle. Then my defense is being built around Ronald Powell. Yep, just hand me the trophy.

The difference maker in most offenses is the tight end. I read an article a year or so ago that explained why this is true. I wish I had saved it. True real life teams covet guys that who are great blockers,as well as great receivers. Unfortunately, they are rare.
Even your best tight ends usually can only do one or the other. Shannon Sharpe couldnt block worth a shite, but he was Elway's favorite target on two Super Bowl teams. The Cowboys offense went to crap after Novachek retired, but were able to keep going after Alvin Harper signed with the Bucs a year or two earlier.
I debated selecting CJ Fiedorowicz in the 3rd round, but figured none of you guys would draft him. I was wrong. For true real life teams a tight end is always going to be more valuable than a 2nd wide receiver. They force the defense to account for them. Look at how much Arizona struggled after Rob Gronkowski got injured. JMHO.

With the 196th pick in the Tiger Droppings Recruiting Board Mock Draft, OBUDan selects:
Jordon James, RB
Honestly, I'm a bit surprised to see James fall this far. Perhaps some are scared off by UCLA landing another RB, Malcolm Jones, but I think James is the superior prospect. At 5'10, 188 he's a little smaller than an everydown type back, but he has the frame to add 20 good pounds of muscle to take the beating. The exciting thing about James is his explosiveness. He may have the quickest feet of any RB in this class and shows all-purpose back skills with his ability to catch and run. He has outstanding vision and can be very elusive in the open field, often slipping through tackles and illustrating his deceptive strength. He shows the ability to make a big play and while he doesn't have great strength or show great leg drive, he makes up for it with his ability to cut and slip through tackles. He will be a dominant threat in the open field and a player that can make something out of nothing with his great athletic ability.

Kaleb Eulls - DE (Mississippi St.)
6'4, 255
4.6 40yd
Eulls will play DE but showed great athleticism at QB in HS. With Nix eating up blockers on the inside, he will be free to create terror in the backfield from the outside.
He is also a high character guy, shown when he selflessly stopped an armed student on a school bus last year. Throw in his good grades and he has all the tools I look for in a pick.
