I've never stopped when driving through there. Any jewels in there I should know about?
Someone told me Bergeron's gets some of it's products there. Any truth in that?

To be honest they aren't much more than your typical fried delit type place. they do make some lasagna and other things but it's just a typical plate lunch type spot when talking about their deli food. Their gumbo is quite good and they have it oftern now during lent......... I don't think they have that great of a fresh meat type items section..... it's worth the frive to borgues in port barre for all your cooked and uncooked needs......

I thought of this too once and acted on it... dissapointed. Can get better stuff at Matherne's.
You can get all your needs and more at Bourque's in Port Barre. They have everything imaginable... smoked deer sausage, homemade meatballs, alligator sausage, hot boudin/cracklins... you name it they have it. And of course the Jalapeno sausage cheese bread.

Thanks. I stop at Bourque's, regularly. I hate to miss anything, along the way, though. Makes driving through those areas more fun when there are places to stop for fun foods.
I assume the gumbo is seafood since made during Lent.
Where is Matherne's?
