I've never seen a college team play worse team defense than LSU

this year. And there's absolutely NO blocking out. Sometimes it looks like it if an LSU player happens to be bodied up with his opponent but there is NO attempt to find someone to block out once the shot is taken. That is the number one sign of poor coaching. Perhaps it could be that these guys have NEVER been coached to do this. In that case they wouldn't be recruited by me if I was coach.
This makes TJ look like a real shitty coach. IMO the jury is still out on TJ because of this.

yeah poor defense and poor shot selection are not a winning combo.

Im pretty sure the defense is not the issue here. Or at least the biggest one

I believe most college coaches would take a 59 point defensive effort every night. Remember those other guys are on scholarship also.

All else equal, if they block out and follow their shots they win.

There were a number of factors. I would point to the two easy inbound baskets as being crucial and the 12 minute drought in the first half.
