If we would play the best O-Linemen and had a coach who would get off his fat butt and concentrate on technique, fundamentals and attention to details we wouldn't be discussing our record, recruiting and other problems

So with RP we would have succeeded even with the poor O-Line play?
Or
With better O-Line play we didnt need RP?

I think both are correct. RP would have been able to cover up a lot of the shortcomings of the oline and a good oline would have been able to cover the shortcomings of JJ or JL.
Combined i think it made for the perfect (shite)storm

JMO though

RP wouldn't have had anymore success than JJ. Scott's run production should tell people something about the O-Line based on his dramatic decline in stats from the year before. Did Scott become a piece of shite or was the O-Line just that bad?
Billy Cannon wouldn't have been able to run behind our O-Line. The O-Line and the coaching of same was the problem. I read in the paper that Stud told Miles he was going to worker harder next year. What did he do this year, sit on his butt? Based on some of the selected starters and their performance, one has to assume he sat on his butt. No excuse for the poor O-Line performance. The blame is squarely on Stud.
