Are you factoring in the annual donation that the Ath Dept gives to the university is likely greater than what the university itself pays to football coaches, or darn close (changes each year).

Also, what sells more shirts (the proceeds of which go to the university) Les winning football games or research grants? You have to seperate market value and ideal value.
