It has been rumored that he and Applewhite are the leading candidates for the La Tech job.
ESPN

Would this help with Reed at all, I'm sure Taylor leaving would be a bigger help, but Trovon can't like this

I'm sure it wouldn't hurt us
I think Malzahn would be a good hire for La Tech too

I dont know why any athletic director wouldnt want Malzahn as their head coach. He had done amazing work at every school hes been to.

Texas Tech should have hired him I think but La Tech would be a fool to not get him.

didn't Nutt basically take the offense away from him after a couple of games...I would like to see him actually build something over 3-5 years vs. just running up a bunch of stats based on gimmicktry in 1 or 2 years.

Nutt took the offense away from him because he hates the forward pass.

I'd hate it too with Casey Dick as my QB and McFadden, Jones and Hillis in the backfield.

This want happen because if he takes the job he's back at AU in two as the HC.

At first I did not think La Tech was a good fit, but then I thought he could stay right in the middle of all the recruiting grounds for AU and Ar-Kansas. He would be waiting for either college to come calling. Then I figured if AU's offense falls off of the charts next year then the AU fans will be dreaming of a Malz coached team. Then AU calls first in two years. The other route by waiting for a better HC job could take 5 -10 years to get back to the SEC as a HC.

If Malzahn goes to La Tech he'd probably stay there until the Arkansas job opened up, IMO.
