It's no myth. It is an absolute fact that JJ last year was a 19-year-old SO and in '07 Flynn was a 23-year-old SR. What any other QBs have done is completely irrelevant when it comes comparing Flynn to JJ.
no its not, u said that his problems are b/c of his age and experience.......fact is Bradford was a RS 20 year old that lit up the QB position...

I doubt it will come up. However, despite playing experience, I will always know there's a big difference in the maturity level of a 23-year-old and a 20-year-old.
go ahead start making excuses, you'll need them...

He should be informed that his job is on the line each week.

but dude had huge balls and was clutch at the end of games. Whether or not JJ can develop that I don't know.
Well, I do know, cause if he was to develop that you would have seen it by now...Just like the UT kid in the fricking 2nd half of the NC GAME!!!! he grabbed his nuts in the 2nd half and said lets go...your a fricking retarded homosexual if you think for one second that JJ could have done that...and that "young man" was fricking 18!!!!
Thats what makes a average QB into a good QB....
JJ=average
Flynn=good

NO,I really didn't. I merely pointed out the significant difference between he and Flynn's age and experience in the program. That's it.

Yes, and he's a Heisman winning 1st round draft pick. And he has absolutely nothing to do with the comparison of Jordan Jefferson and Matt Flynn. Try to keep up here. I am ONLY talking about JJ and Flynn. That's it. No one else.

Jesus y'all are so fricking stupid.
I am not making excuses for JJ. He was not as good this year as he should have been and our offense suffered because of it. I'll try this again. I am ONLY pointing out that it's an advantage to be a 5th-year SR as opposed to a true SO. Also, barring injury just about every QB in the history of CFB was better as a SR than as a SO. People who think JJ can't progress in the next 2 years are fricking retarded. Because just about all the evidence of history points to the contrary.

quote:i agree with everything you say except the part of JJ being close to Flynn, I dont see any way shape or form except for statistics, and IMO JJ's stats lie about his performance. On paper JJ looked like he did really well. He seems efficient and doesnt turn the ball over, but the guy doesnt take shots, he doesnt throw the ball away, he takes sacks, he would rather run than step up and find a receiver. These problems can be fixed. The main thing I saw in Flynn that I dont in JJ and its a huge factor when I look at flynn, is his ability to be a leader, and yes he was a 5th year senior but in the peach bowl as a RS soph, you could still noticeably see this.

And we have no idea how Flynn would have done at 19, because his arse was permanently glued to the pine
Considering Flynn was just 20 when he went 13/22 for 196 yards, and rushed 5 times for 39 yards, and game MVP against #9 Miami, I am pretty sure that he showed at 20, what he was capable of. JJ has not (in 15 starts).
So no from me, on JJ's development for 2010.

Yes, with some protection.
He didn't do such a bad job while running for his life in the abscense of a ground game. It could have been much worse.
Why don't you negatigers insert your heros Flynn, Russel, Mauk's Soph year into 2009 and imagine results. These guys success came with luxury of great o-line and run/pass balance.
You aholes wouldn't even come here if everything was perfect and couldn't find something negative to say.

And JJ's game against GT was somehow subpar? Again, Flynn had a great line and rush game to compliment pass attack. Would you say Flynn could put up those #s with 2009 o-line and ground game? I very much doubt it.

JJ was not bad last year and will be even better in 2010. How anyone can't understand or see that

I just showed up to vote and refute some idiotic notion that QB play is indepentent of rest of the team.
I said o-line play was awful this year.

NO! You can referance my answer by watching the last play of the Ole Miss game!

The spiking the ball or what not aggravates me but the sack he takes before the throw pisses me off the most about him. He back up out of the pocket causing the sack, he could step up and by another 1-2 seconds but you gotta get rid of the ball and know you cant take a sack right there.

No.
Looks like a deer infront of headlights out there. Brings back bad memories of Marcus Randall. Why can't LSU get a great QB??

My argument is stats dont tell the story, looking at JJ's stats he was a beast at qb. but watching him play, I saw a qb who was scared to take chances and was gunshy on his throws, also taking tons of sacks instead of throwing the ball away, and before you say its the oline's fault, many of his sacks he had ample time but either dropped back too far or got happy feet.
