Okay Sarge.
Alabama and Tenn. play each other every year just as LSU-Fla. Every loss for Bama helps LSU. Since Bama and LSU also play each other every year, that means one of them will have a division loss. If one beats the other but loses one other division game AND an East Division game, the head-to-head is negated. So theoretically, Bama could beat LSU (LSU's only conference loss) head-to-head, lose to Ole Miss AND Tenn. and LSU would still be West Div. champs even though Bama won the head-to-head West Division matchup. OK?

Yeah,....but bottom line is that in a late season scenario where LSU and Bama are both top-5 teams(But not necessarily top 3) with NC aspirations there is a good chance that if the SEC West comes down to who wins the LSU-Bama game, it doesn't matter much if Bama loses to UT. In fact, it would be more beneficial in the polls for LSU to beat an undefeated Bama team rather than a 1-loss Bama team.
