Baffles me. He is the head coach. We all griped all season long so what was the problem? Miles was the guy who could have addressed the situation but stonewalled the fans when asked.

That my friends is the mark of an idiot. He is the head coach and if he wanted Shep to get more touches and more playing time he should have told Crowton to do this or told him to find a new job.

This is what you say when you are trying to convince other recruits to come to your school.

Yes, so let's not gripe all off season too!

This one's easy.

Miles either means to say that Shep wasn't where they wanted him to be (w/e that means), and couldn't use him the way they wanted, but I think it means this:

They (LSU's coaches) have no idea what to do with him.

MILES is the CEO and has no control over what players are in the game.

The assistants/inmates are running the asylum.

CLM has to have great assistants or LSU wont win.

Crouton and Stud are not great ...far from it.

Hence bringing in Gonzo. Shep = Harvin the next 2-3 years.

He also said they spent the spring working him at QB to fulfill LSU promise to him during recruiting then 6 weeks later when he wasn't going to start at QB he asked to be switched...which slowed his progression. Maybe people should read the whole thing before they say Miles is a complete idiot! The kid wanted in the game no matter what, but that lead to him not being 100% prepared at any position. Maybe he didn't play as much as rantards wanted because he wasn't ready to! Once he is set in a roll next year he will play more. Miles said he will not be practicing at Qb but more as a percy harvin type player and special teams. I think he sees the field a lot more next year. Stop picking one sentence out of an entire article and saying Miles is a retard! I'm not saying Miles is the greatest coach in the world, but maybe there is more to the story then just Miles is an idiot! maybe the kid just wasn't ready to be on the field for 20 or 30 plays!

I have a want for that to happen, but there's no way the buzz-killers here can help--or stop--themselves. It's already time to abandon all hope, the program's in a free-falling decline that can't ever be repaired. That is, unless the Patron Saint Saban returns to LSU, the answer to way too many Ranters' wet dreams. So, the impending 'Bama dynasty is upon us and they will rule tackle-football until the end of days.

I'm not gonna accept any of that. frick it, all I want is LSU to get a fair shot vs. Alabama (like when Chad Jones blew up JP Wilson to set up the game-winning TD in '07), while the last 2 losses to them both ended with our final play being a J. Lee interception. If LSU takes 'Bama, the whole SEC landscape changes, and we have a shot at the SECCG. And our coaches get paid the big bucks (including scratch from me and my family for six years now) to do everything possible to get us in position to contend. Period.

Even if Miles has his senior moments, LSU can win every game on its schedule this year. Can't prove they will, but all the "FACT!" and "book it!" posters can't prove they won't (though they'll continue to try anyway, 'cos they have all the answers).

And the upcoming schedule has N. Carolina in GA and West VA at Tiger Stadium, along with Tenn., 'Bama, Ole Piss and Miss St. Like our chances at Fla., Auburn, Vandy and Arky. Also like that everyone can at least watch the Spring Game on ESPN.

Uh, nice sound-bite, but the story you're talking about was much more detailed about Miles' out-of-character, candid Q&A about RS, the offensive problems, Crowden, play-calling, and other issues which we debate on the Rant hour-by-hour. You should've linked the whole piece (heck, the damn story was on the TD.com homepage for 3 days or so). But, I guess that would've cut down the number of replies you're gonna get that do nothing but affirm the worst-case scenarios from Ranters that have to be perpetually miserable. Whatever...
