If you don't think for one second this is what is going down with the BG hire, you are delusional.

I agree and I expect it to be about as successful as the last time we had co-coordinators.

Nothing like a little pre-emptive insult to get your thread off to a good start.

So, I should think that for one second to be decreed non delusional? Deal.

I personally think Crowton's role may be limited to QB coaching and clock managment and perhaps team chaplin. Formal position will stay the same.

Sometimes the "co-?" title is a way of getting money to the guys and giving them a little ego boost. They don't do that in the McDonalds where you work?

And ultimately, giving them the gate.

It has worked from time to time, but as much of a disaster as it was in 2008 with our D, and with the offensive confusion last year under one coordinator, it is hard to be optimistic about the proposition.

It is a good way to gradually prepare a guy who doesn't have any coordinator experience, however. It remains to be seen if it will be good for the team.

I did think about it for one second, and realized I was delusional...

Why would we want this?

Well, apparently this is part of his responsibilities now. At least the QB part. We don't have a dedicated QB coach. It would be taking away the game planning and play calling responsibilities away from him. Maybe with fewer things to do he could do them better.

So you are saying he will no longer be calling plays? Does this mean the death of the short side option?
