Chris Garret > Jordan Jefferson?

Jefferson still deserves the spot if he performs well in spring IMO. I think if we get rid of Crowton, promote Gonzalez to OC, and hire a REAL QB coach, Jefferson can be a damn good Quarterback.

How is Garret better than JJ when he hasn't done anything on the collegiate level to garner such respect. Sounds similar to the J. Lee improved from the last season by sitting on the bench and watching. When he entered the games against bama and tech it was an epic fail. Not hating on Garret but no qb coming into the SEC in his first year is going to be overly successful.

This whole Chris Garret/JJ debate is kinda crazy..Unless you have watched practice all year long you cant make a logical opinion
If Jordan next year was a RS Fresh like Chris I would say Chris would have the edge due to his spring game plays..but hes not.
Jordan has spent a year facing some of the best defenses in the country..Chris will battle him very hard in the spring but i beleive in the end JJ will start and Chris will be an awesome backup developing into a championship QB when Jordan leaves or if he goes down..even if he may look better at times I dont think we can afford ruining the future of a QB like we did with Lee..
I can remember watching recruiting videos of Lee in highschool and saying please take Hatch out Lee is the answer and he got screwed.....Develop Chris and plug him in when the time is right
To answer the question Chris Garret is the better pure QB...BUT sticking with JJ next year will result in better immediate success

coaches need to at least let Garret have a chance in the spring to get a look at QB, just out of fairness

Garret will get a look and unless he is the reincarnation of a 10th year all pro version drew brees, he will be a backup.

CG will be damn good but let's not throw him to the wolves. It's far more important to let him develop and have him kick arse for 2 years.

McElroy, the Bummer QB, playing for MNC

The back-up QB is almost always better than the starting QB.

I'm sure this has nothing to do with the fact that McElroy is a 21 y/o senior. I'm sure you were also expecting JJ to put the same exact numbers Matt Flynn did when he was a 5th year senior... afterall it was his first year as the starter.

JJ will be the starter all season, regardless of production unless he is injured. DOesn't matter how good Garrett is.

Then we can be right back to where we were last year. Awesome.

If we use Les loyalty to Lee before pulling him for JJ and he wouldn't have done it then if not for the injury. It will take almost an SEC record breaking Interception campaign, an epic comeback win against Mcneese State and a game ending injury before JJ is replaced.

JJ will not be replaced in a Les Miles system, period. Its JJ or bust. Hope the kid catches on over the offseason.

If/when Garret does get to start, I anxiously await the "Bench Garret, start #2/#3 QB" threads.

If it does the criticism won't stop. Witnessed the same critiques when JR was qb. If JJ goes 11-1 and goes to the SEC game and loses. These same threads will pop up. Certain qb's have to win it all to be respected.

this is one of the problems with Miles. he often plays people out of fairness instead of talent.

and having the heisman winner in his backfield probably didn't hurt

Instead of "Fear the Hat" it should be "Watch out for the hard head". Miles is stubborn to a fault, which will be his ultimate downfall at LSU.

If the offense improves to somewhere other than the bottom ten percent of FBS teams the criticism will stop. The offense is as bad as Its been in a long long time. The offense as too inconsistent, the QB is too inconsistent.
