How good a coach is Brick Haley? Should it just be written off as a bad year or a transition period?

It's just been a long time since I've seen the LSU defensive line get dominated like they were this year (especially against LA Tech).

Thoughts?

Defensive line shouldn't be that difficult to teach. There shouldn't be too much of a transition required.

Obviously the bears didn't think he was a good coach. That should tell you something.

Earl Lane royally fricked up the guys who he coached so I think its fair to give Brick one more year.

Don't worry about that, we're just that good.

If Brick can teach technique, then I'm ok with him. That was one the biggest problems under the Lane regime. That guy refused to teach technique. If Brick can teach these guys to use their hands like they should, then things should be looking up with him.

I think its coaching. It seems they have trouble shedding blockers. Poor hand mechanics. Chad Lavalais and Kyle Williams were less talented than this bunch but always made plays. Its not a strength thing. Moffit has em coached up there we know. I think its a left over problem from Lane. Hopefully we see the merits in Chavis next year.

personally, i think our DL is OK. if we had ONE dominant inside rusher, things would be completely different. we have moved so many of our DL guys to OL, i think we have dilluted the postion. the FUTURE LOOKS GREAT THOUGH.
