The only thing I see as a potential issue is how much money Brees will want in a few years. He can write his own check but taking as much as we'll pay him will limit the talent we can surround him with.
I don't think this will be a problem. Drew has been turning down endorsements except for those co's that will donate to his charity. He wants to win, and win, and win....

"I understand how this business works and how this industry is," Brees said when asked about the possibility of a long-term contract extension. "For quarterbacks and coaches, it's about going to the playoffs and it's about winning champions and wins and losses. None of that other stuff matters. That's what I'm here for.
"I'm not even thinking about an extension. You can't think about those things right now. Do I hope it happens at some point? Absolutely. Because I love it here. I love this team, and I love this organization."

I think Brees really likes it here. Hopefully he's the type to take $15m a year when he could probably get $20m. Hell, if there's no cap I could see Snyder or Jones offering him $25m+.
Other than that, they have a young WR corps locked up for 3+ years, a very good young CB tandem for 3 years, and a very good middle Lb for 3 or 4 years who shouldn't start decling any time soon. If we extend Nicks, who will be the top player on their FA list IMO, we'll have a great young OG tandem for at least two more years.
The only problem potential problem spots over the next 3 years are LT (Brown will cost too much for his age/injury concerns, Bushrod is RFA, Streif I think is UFA), DE (Smith aging, Grant aging and sucking, McCray not being that good), S (I think they'll let Sharper walk in favor of extending Evans, maybe Bushrod and Brees), and RB (I like PT and Bell, but if they get $5m+ a year from someone, I say bid them adieu and target a RB in the middle rounds of the draft).
