Time to panic?

Is it time to panic because Saban has Alabama at the top of the SEC in only 3 years? Will LSU ever see the light of day from Saban's shadow again?
I think Saban has gotten better than he was when he was at LSU. However, I don't think we've heard that last of LSU.
Alabama was good and consistent all year. The rest of the SEC, outside of Florida, was pretty average. Florida was good on defense, but really never overcame the loss of Percy Harvin and lacked explosion on offense. This was not a great Florida team.
LSU was anemic on offense and good on defense, but lacked on both lines and at QB to a degree. Still, I believe that if Peterson doesn't go out with cramps, and the interception was ruled correctly, LSU wins that game. LSU wasn't the better team by any stretch, but that day, those two things seemed to swing the game. Even last year with Jarrett Lee, LSU and Bama went to OT.
Bama is and should be the favorite in the West next year, and probably most years after that, but the gap between LSU and Bama is not as big as it seems right now.

He's not better it is just that he is now with Alabama. I am not saying that in a critical way but it is the truth.
It is like taking a great racecar driver and then putting him in the best car on the track or with the best pit crew.
Alabama is an entity in itself and when you put someone like Saban at the helm then you get what you are seeing right now at Alabama.

LSU won't be favored in the West until 2012.

Bama had the best players in the SEC this year? What do you mean? Coaches and players win games.

the fact that you clowns had a nice year doesn't give you the right to declare an entitlement clause on par with the scum in south bend. if you guys were such and 'entity' you would have you own national tv network. saban is a damn good college coach but he has a notoriously short attention span and is hardly infallible. come see me in three years and we'll continue this conversation.
good luck with tejas.

Mark my words.... LSU will never win another sec or national title. Nick Saban is LSU's only hope... EVER. If we do not offer him 1 billion a year, we will be doomed to suffer winless seasons for the rest of our lives or saban's life. But Saban is immortal, so he will never die.
LSU will lose every game next year by 50 except the alabama game. We will lose by 100.
Christ, you people wont stop with saban.
He is a good coach.
Alabama is a pretty good team.
He cant win a title every year.
LSU is in a great position for the next 3-5 years. Drop the saban crap.

you are delusional. This is not the 70's. Nobody will dominate this conference every year. Its a different ballgame in the modern area.

Scoop, I have to respectfully disagree with you on this one. College football is not what it use to be, just ask Notre Dame and for that matter USC this year. There is better recruiting, better athletes, across the board, due to better sports science, coaching, technology, etc, etc. The gap in College football as a whole has changed significantly. Bama is on top for now, like LSU was, but due to the above, LSU as well as other colleges are but only one season away from returning to the very top...........

Judging by the replies, one might think I inferred that LSU was doomed from here on out. That is not the case.

I see Les Miles continuing to recruit well
Talent: Check
I see Les Miles hired a new DC
Good Defense: Check
I see Jordan Jefferson continuing to mature
Third year QB: Check
Crowton or no crowton I see this team being improved on the offensive side because our QB will be one year older with an extra off season to work with.

Can we think up a new way to say the same thing over and over?
