Question about a secondhand Blackberry

My friend got a new phone, and recently gave me his old Blackberry from Verizon. However, I'm with T-Mobile, and I've got a SIM card. I don't think the Blackberry uses a SIM. How do I switch the phone over into my account/name/possession/etc.? Is there any way to do this?

nope you have a CDMA phone & T-Mobile is a TDMA network

Damn, that's what i thought. Thanks.
Oh, btw, is there anything i can do with the old Blackberry? It's a bit used up, and it doesn't have the adapter, but it works fine.

Sell it on ebay or put it in a skeet shooter?

Still wouldn't work due to the different types of networks

quote:thats not really true. like i said it has to be unlocked and even though its 3g on verizon it wont be on att or tmobile. those phones are world phones, i have cellular south which is the same network as verizon(cdma) and i put a tmobile sim card in it the other day and made phone calls with it just to test it out, and it worked.
