i agree with what you are saying to some extent...Petrino said on his TV show that he knew what plays we were running based on personnel formations - doesnt sound too complex to me if a predominantly offensive minded coach can read us. i think we need more fewer formations with more plays to run from them.

The old school I formation has so many plays that can be run out of it. For example. Runs up middle,off tackle, sweep, fullback draw or pitch to outside halfback, throw to recievers who are on islands to take advantage of height/athletecism. Not to mention play action. We don't see this very often in Crowtons offenses and if we do, it's only one or two plays that the defense expects us to run out of it.
