I got to attend the game last night...1st of season.

Have we ben playing our safeties 20-25 yards deep all year?

Last night, Chad Jones was routinely lining up 20 yrds deep and then moving backwards on almost every snap. Late in the game, both safeties were lining up over 20 yds deep. We had no safety run support, and on passes less than 25 yds down the field, we had no safety over-the-top help. It looked to me like we were playing a strange prevent defense for the entire game.

It seems that any good QB would love playing 11 on 10 or 11 on 9.

Yes, but we never give up big plays.

Yes, they've been doing it all year. We covered the deep ball very well last night, except of two occasions, but why they didn't dink and dunk with the short crossing routes that were good on the first drive, I don't know.

I feel like you, we play 10 against 11 with our free safety 20 yards deep.

Mustang Package. Learn it. Live it. Love it. This is your LSU defense for as long as Chavis is here.
