a tackle, almost every takle that is made you lead with your head. Or am I missing something here?

well, first of all you don't use the crown of you helmet to make the hit (spearing), and you don't aim for the head of a defenseless player. To avoid paralyzing yourself or another player you need to lead with your head UP, not down.

Yea but under the definition that is still leading with the head. When they announce it they don't say leading with the crown of the head.

The issue is not leading with the head or anything like that. The rules clearly state, apparently, that a defender shall not initiate contact toward the upper part of a defenseless player's body.

Well it look to me last night that the contact was initiated on the shoulder pads and their heads came together. So I don't see how they can make a split second decision when the hit happens. The LA Tech guy launched himself at the head and didn't get flagged I don't think Jones Launched himself. I think it was just a great hit!

I do too and I think that Arky WR probably feels hungover this morning.
However, within the current rules, the penalty was fair.

You don't lead with your head down. Which Chad jones dis not do, he led with his head up and didn't even hit helmet to helmet. It was a beautiful play that knocked the ball loose.
