I have heard a lot of media say how much responsibility he took but then they show the news conference where he declares he did not call for a spike, followed by the clip of him on the sideline calling for a spike.

Im confused, not trying to besmirch the man, but just trying to get a handle on the facts. Did the coach knowingly misstate his role in whom called for the spike?

Frankly, I think the man is so lost at the end of close games that he doesn't know what's going on or what happened after it's over. I never saw a head coach ask a cop about time outs left in the game ...

Plus, Miles lies. It's just becoming more public. He has a whole history of private ones with players, recruits and coaches.

The players seem to think he did. At least in their team meeting anyway. I'd think their feelings on it matter infinitely more than heartbreakTiger's.

I tend to agree with you but I want to give him the benefit of the doubt.

However, I have some friends at another school who keep telling me they think the problem with our team is the coach's lack of integrity; that Miles is all show and no go; that he talks a good game but is full of BS. They cite the Ole Miss game as the most recent (obviously) example and they are calling our coach a liar (among other things). The video clip makes it hard for me to argue and I was hoping someone here might be able to help me see how he did not in fact lie.

There are public feelings of players and there are private feelings of players. In many cases, they are not the same -- just like what is said in the newspaper isn't what is discussed in the dorm room or the locker room.

I love how the people who don't give him credit for taking responsibility because he didn't at first are the same group of people who talk trash on here and can't even come back to eat crow on an internet message board.

I know it's difficult for some to take, but he's been like that since the day we walked in at LSU.

It has gotten progressively worse over time when success was riding high, but now he really has to embellish things to maintain the facade.

I think the majority of LSU fans could take or leave Les at this time. "They've lost that loving feeling" so to speak.

There are many, many, many more like that and worse than that.

Miles has always been the kind of guy to tell people what they want to hear. It has been slowly eating away at his integrity.

Taking responsibility would include admitting he hasn't put a good product on the field for TWO years, now. And taking a pay cut until he deserves 3 mil per. Did he do that?

Wrong on every count for those who says Miles didn't take the dagger. He stood up and owned it more than any coach I can remember. I'm pissed at his mistakes, but he was a man a stood up.

So, where was Jefferson in that clip? All I can see are the wide receivers (#2 and #80). Is Jefferson in the clip? If I missed it, please point it out.
