There was enough time left for another play. This is clear by the fact there was a kickoff immediately after the conversion try.

Try almost every freakin game where he lets the last 30 or 45 seconds of a half or quarter run out. Never tries to get that extra score to cushion a lead or to cut a lead. Les is always happy to just waste time during a game over and over.
