Its pretty amazing what Miles did with this team in 06. All the great players he supposedly had seem pretty shitty now.

I said it when he was at LSU and I'll say it now...Jamarcus Russell was great for LSU but is not an NFL-caliber QB. The norm was for him to hit wide open receivers who adjusted to bad throws rather than for him to thread the needle and get completions to receivers who were not open.

He could nail a quick slant though.

JR is behind a shitty line, playing with rookie receivers in the most fricked up organization in football. He could help himself out a lot by doing a few situps and eating some salads. But let's face it, he was doomed on draft day and everyone knew it.

Perhaps, but he'd still be a bust. If I saw one wide open LSU receiver adjust to a bad throw I've seen a hundred.

JR has the problem of having his pocket being occupied by the d-line and linebackers, or tripping over the bodies of his own o-line that are at his feet. He could definitely loose about 30 lbs that don't do him any favor when he needs to move around.

It is still very early for JR...Don't over-conclude at this stage of the game.

Many start off rough in their careers, and then catch fire and "get it", and then look out

Time will tell. Hope he gets back on track and gets another chance in the near future.

The entire Raiders receiving core made "C'mon man!" this past Monday night. Even those analyst who are always on JR said as much as they felt sorry for him shouldering the blame. Calling JR a bust while he is on the Raiders is like saying Archie sucked because the Saints were so bad.
