Much more physical than Hawk in the run game and a sure tackler. Hawk has struggled to shed blockers as well. That's going to be crucial this week. What say you?

I really thought that Jai would have a career ending injury celebrating before his time was up at LSU.

Snead is more likely to abuse Jai in the passing game than Chris. Chris is not a complete stud, but he is better in coverage than Jai.

Snead hasn't abused anyone since Hawk last year. Jai didn't see the field and Snead shredded our secondary.

McCluster will abuse Hawkins. Hawkins can't tackle a wet paper bag. He's our weakest defender on the defense.

Hawkins. He missed several tackles and whiffed on wimpy La Tech runners, how is going to stop SEC 5* future NFL stars.

Jai got ate up against Alabama. Thought he would be solid. I think Ron Brooks got a go at the cb position

Don't you know that we don't start players based on their strengths or weakness compared to the opposing team of the week? They start whoever impresses them most in practice consistently, as long as it isn't an underclassman.

yeah me too. there was a similar should Jai start thread vs. Bama for the same reason as this one, and he didn't even look good tackling.

Looked like he needed work on his coverage. Snead would throw at him all day. I think he has a lot of potential at OLB, though.

Snead has ONE receiver threat in Hodge(PP means hes done). Those who say differently are stupid. Patterson hasn't done shite and the other dude would not give Jai, Hawkins, or Brooks trouble so I'm all for starting the best man for defending McCluster.

I always figured that Brooks and Jai needs to be on the field for McCluster. Maybe I'm wrong. Jai did get picked on by Bama, but he never really gets scored on. Not that I can remember anyway. Hawkins vs Ole Miss last year, this year vs UGA, and UF has not been thrilling. Whoever plays, I'm pullin for themm big time, because I hate to see my boys lose.

What say U

Anyone who has seen Jai backpeddling into Avoyelles Parish on 3rd and 8, doesn't want him in on passing downs...
