Are you sick of the whining yet?

Teams play down and flat after having their dreams of an SEC title dashed! The sky is not falling.
Now...for the Miles bashing. I posted a thread that was very critical of Miles' clock management and his decision to go for two early against Bammer. I think he makes some bad decisions from time to time, but I stand by this coach for the following reasons:
1) the guy picked right up where Saban left off
2) we've won a national and SEC title under his leadership
3) we've competed for the SEC title every season under his leadership.
4) we've had several top 5 recruiting classes and have another one lined up right now!
You spoiled, foolish Rantards that are calling for Miles' exit are either too young to remember the Archer, Hallman, DiNardo eras...or errors!...or too damned demented to remember those God awful years. I attended LSU from 88 to 92...and outside of my Freshman year, we had NOTHING to cheer about. I stayed in the LSU system for another 4 years...and again lived through some pretty awful coaching...and mediocre recruiting.
We have it so GOOD right now...count your damn blessings and stop the bitching and moaning!

No, but really tired of trying to get trough to idiots like you. If you can't see the differance between what Saban built and instilled in his players and what Miles is doing. Then it is useless. Saban instills discipline and the mental aspect of the game. He expects and demands it from his players. He teaches his players to be coaches on the field. When it comes down to teams like LSU, Fla., Ala. the talent level on the field physically is generally pretty even. So what makes the differance in these games is the mentally tough and prepared teams. We don't have that anymore. Miles has recruited awsomely, but the ability to develop and prepare his teams to be smart on the field is tremendously lacking. After Saban left, we still had enough of the players who had Saban's personality and mental awareness of the game to continue for the next couple of years. They were the leaders. Since then it has just continued to get watered down until we have no more. These players, while extremely talented, have taken on Miles' layed back personallity. Just like the previous players who had taken on Saban's personallity. While Miles is a great guy, loyal coach, and a great representative of LSU, he does not have what it's gonna take to keep this program at the top. We will soon find ourselves as just one of the slightly above average teams in the SEC. He may continue to recruit well, but his style and personallity will not develop the talent well enough for us to actually be better than Ala. and Fla. It is just so hard for me to comprehend how some people just can't see that deep into a game, a season, and a coach.

i think three different things are occurring:
some say miles has got to go.
some say miles has got to stay but crowton has to go.
some say don't worry be happy.
it for sure could be worse but also I think there is a reason some say those first two things. especially the 2nd one.

I can only bitch about the play calling. I don't like the way the o line has played, but gonna put that on the players and coaches, since we were able to run the ball last year. Again, it will be hard to complain if we win out and finish 11-2 again and probably top 10 and maybe top 5.

michigan tiger... +1
great kids
3 of four years top five finish... undefeated in bowls...
whipped storied programs notre dame, miami, georgia tech and ohio state in bowl games
the fact is coach miles has been unbelievable - difficult to understand at times - but unbelievable.

Well said MichiganTiger.
Look I'm not saying "don't worry, be happy", but when you've got a Porsche with a cracked distributor cap, it's gonna sputter. You don't throw up your hands and trade it in for a Daewoo. You fix the distributor cap and enjoy your Porsche. Unfortunately I know a lot of you are impatient, but the original designs never called for JL or JJ to be our starting QB yet. In two more years when JJ is a senior, we'll be rockin'.

Last year, Bama beat us due to a more experienced QB that executed better than our true freshman QB.
This year, Bama had more talent and experience on the OL and DL and a more consistent QB. and a pack of bias SEC officials.
Next year it should be a fair fight--not counting the SEC officals.

The number of top recruits that may think like you scares the hell out of me.

I agree about the play calling, especially v. uf. But, again, we have it so incredibly good...especially when you look at the not so distant past.

With 2 losses to "inferior teams." Stanford had to block USC's PAT and OU had to choke for that to be possible.

Negative. Not even close.

We've had 2, not several.

Those who don't remember the DiNardo era could be reacquainted very soon.

+1! This was supposed to be RP's team...considering that MAJOR set back, we've had a great run.

Dinardo recruited decent talent, but did NOT make good hires! He lost his DC to UT and hired Lou...freakin' Tepper! I remember oh so well. I think Les beat the crap out of Dinardo's lazy arse in that dept.
Hold on...there's a good chance that Crowton gets the door at the end of the season.
Again, look at the past...Dinardo bad hire...Les...good hire.
Hey...2 top 5 classes...in the last 4 years...is several! It's friggin' 50%!

and you forgot to add that Clint Eastwood has never won the best actor (Oscar) award as good as he is. is life fair, no it is all an accident. you have to learn to take the good with the bad!

Typically, "several" means more than 2. Percentage is irrelevant. That's all I was saying. This one's wearing purple and gold glasses.

Crowton wont go. No doubt LSU is stuck with him for a while.
But I would take Miles over Saban any day. Saban is a great program builder, no doubt. But I am not convinced he is the God of football coaching everyone crowns him. Remember LSU's secondary in the Saban years? Remember, he coached them himself.
