re: No reason for Keiland to be in Miles' doghouse

I just hope KW finishes out his Tiger career with three big games in the regular season and one more in our bowl game. From day one he has always come across as a classy individual, and I'd love to see him put up a couple hundred yards between now and the end of his LSU career.

The two stories that came out yesterday in the advocate make it clear what the problem is.
All of Keiland's quotes contain "I" and "my".
All of Ridley's quotes contain "We" and "our".
There is no need to delve any further.

True Keiland is a total selfish guy thats why he's complained so much about his alarming lack of playing time during his career.

K. Williams, T Holiday, Richard Dickson, JoJo Lafell, didnt get used correctly, bad play calling pretty much handicapped them, i was verbally scorned by this board for suggesting this, I wasnt Flaming, i was dissapointed that these skilled players never reached their potential

As a college player you can't really complain much about your playing time-- that doesnt work out too well for you. But if anyone has made it clear how he feels everytime he talks, it's Keiland.
Physically running the ball is about 10% of being a go-to running back. The rest is mental and blocking and reading defenses to protect your QB and technique doing those things. All Keiland ever wanted to do and all he still wants to do is just run the ball and be the greatest yard gainer in LSU history. He doesn't want to do any of those other things, I don't think. because of that, he just isn't gonna play much. It's on him. A coach doesn't let a true go-to stud waste in the stable. There is no conspiracy. Keiland is just one dimensional. The dimension is him.

If he is so one-dimensional and doesn't block, then why has he been the back that has come in on obvious passing downs this year to block. If he couldn't block pretty well, they would have left Scott in to block.
It amazes me that people continue to talk about him fumbling and him dancing around. Nintey-percent of his dancing has been because the play was obvious and the d-line busted through and he is looking for some where to go. There have been many times that he has been wrapped up 3-5 yards deep and stil gets back to the line. People that say he doesn't run hard and with power, don't watch the game very closely. I know that I'm talking a losing battle, becuase we have plenty of people on here that don't have a clue and we have a coach or two that don't want KW in the game very often. It still baffles me that KW looked very good earlier this season and practically won the Vandy game for us and everyone on here was praising him. The next week after all of the hype and questions to Les, he doesn't even get into the ULL game until the middle of the second quarter. This isn't the first time that Miles has protected a player (Scott) that he likes a lot. He did it in 2007 when RP looked good running the offense against Virginia Tech and Middle Tennessee State. After that, all he was allowed to do after that was run the ball.

obviously you didn't read the article where it was stated he was brought to pick up blitz packages on third downs.

Your points are well taken. I don't argue that he isn't anygood. I don't argue he doesn't have potential or talent.
I argue that something is wrong because he isn't being played. I vigorously argue that the idea that a coach isn't playing a kw that you describe is bs--your description of kw is innacurate. There is a kw that you are't describing and that is the kw he is NOT playing.
And finally, i take umbrage at your comment that no one knows dick about football on here-- we all have the same information if we watched the games, and we all do.
I'm not trying to pick a fight. I just have to believe that there is a legit reason he is not playing. I will say that i don't think its because he gets an abyssmal 2 yrds per carry-- i think its something else. I think you can see what it is by what he says.
He has had some good qb protection moments so that wasnt fair exactly. But what else is there? Besides a problem we cant see. Why would a coach not play his best? Crowton lord knows can call plays for him.

This is something that miles does. It has to be something. How do you go from rushing for 917 yards as a freshman in half a season to dwindling carries and being passed up by a rb with a recently repaired knee on a critical 3rd and 2 play. If you watch the replay ridley didn't follow his fullback to the hole and got stuffed. Hopefully KW can get some carries to end his career with a bang.

You are right i didnt read one of them past the first kw quote. I'll read it all. I'd be interested in who said this.

KW may go down as the most underutilized super talent in LSU Football history.
But I expect him to have a great NFL career.

if i had time i'd go back to the beginning of the season and bump all the post praising KW for running hard.

His quotes are basic, rehearsed answers in media language. He probably wants to say something else.
The bottom line about Keiland is that this shows he has character. Lots of other guys have canned statements they could make. However, they climb in the hole on the low road and say dumb, selfish things.
Kudos to Keiland for being a team player and not making this a "ME" thing!

Was crowton offensive coord during kw's good year? Because if he wasn't i can buy your argument. I am on a blackberry so i dont remember when that was but it seems like it was 2006?

Was it not the 2007 national championship season, especially the VT game? If so, that was Crowton's first year.

Ridley not following Parsons on the 3rd and 2 ??? The D lineman drove the center back 1/2 yard on the snap and Ridley had to go left with the momentum he had. Follow Parsons ??? No way to spot and run around the penetration. Look at the replay again.

2006 kw led the team in rushing even though he only played half a season. He gave JR a rushing game to go along with the passing game that we were lacking with Vincent, brussard and hester carrying the rock.

This is true. After he was Scott's equal in the 1st two games, many people agreed that he was a different guy from last year and running hard with better vision.
It seems like the next few games shifted focus from the everlasting Keiland-Scott debate to the bland play-calling, no shots downfield, the horrible blocking, and lack of a pass rush.
There were few threads debating which RB should be playing or if they were any good because there seemed to be much bigger issues.
