So, the way I understand it... if you win your SEC "division" you play in the SEC title game. I am being told different tonight and told that the two best teams with the best SEC records in each division go... This would mean that if we beat Alabama, but loss to Ole Piss or Arky, Alabama would go over us because of their one loss in the SEC to our two. Please help me to a rule guide or something....

bama would have one loss in the conference and lsu would have 2 so bama would win the division and go to atlanta

Wow...really?

If LSU wins tomorrow...they are in the driver's seat.

But, if LSU were to lose to either Ole Miss or Arky and Bama wins out...Bama goes to the SECCG.

So, why have divisions? So, we can lose to everyone in the west, while alabama loses to everyone in the east, but we would represent the west?? So, it really comes down to the best SEC record in both divisions? Why bother?

In the case of a tie then the division records would be looked at. But, if LSU has two SEC loses and Bama only one, Bama goes the title game.

Well, my perhaps meaningless question is that why have a division winner? If we beat Bama, but lose to Ole Miss, we technically are the winner of the west as we beat bama head to head. yes bama has one less SEC loss, but we are the best team in the west. Correct?

No. In that case Bama would win the West and go the SECCG.

how could you think that? so what if lsu beat bama, bama beat ole miss. you can't win the division just because you won one game.

how do you win the west? We both have one west loss, and yours is to us. This is just asinine, if you have the best record in the west... you should represent the west, not if you have done better against the east

Plus, when you lose late in the season it hurts more. You don't have the time to make up ground lost. LSU can't afford to lose another game. BEAT BAMA and worry about the rest Sunday

you are part of the sec not just the sec west. it is the best conference record in each division. you think a team could lose three games to the eastern conference and another team have only one loss in the division and the team with three conference loses would win the division, really?

Really? No one is with me here??? LSU and Alabama play the same 5 other teams in the west. Whoever has the best record against these said teams should be the western division champions regardless of their additional games. Winning the west should mean just that; winning the WEST!

That's why they play one another. If you have the best western division record, you play the best eastern division team... Why the F not?
