It's all about game plan.....let's hope they have a good one

There's a lot being kicked around as to the problems with this year's team and what needs to be done to fix the perceived problems. One thing I haven't seen mentioned much is the effect a good game plan can have on a game. It's one of the most crucial aspects but often overlooked in simply looking at a team's performance.
For example, Florida had two weeks to game plan and figure out how to stop the "potent" LSU offense and clearly came up with a good game plan that seemed to have an answer for anything the Tigers tried to do. Thus, the offense looked totally inept. That doesn't mean the team will look just as bad on offense the next time out, as they will be facing a different team with a different game plan so it will be a whole new game in many respects.
LSU will have 2 weeks to prepare for Auburn and I personally think that will make all the difference. I expect to see a whole new team show up Saturday night, but not because the lights are suddenly coming on or Jefferson and/or the OLine have just gotten that much better in the previous two weeks, but because I have confidence that the coaching staff will do a better job of coming up with a game plan that will be effective against Auburn.
It's all about game plan....though good execution goes a long way to help.
The coaches aren't total idiots as they clearly have gotten it right at least some of time. LSU had a month at the end of last season to game plan and figure out how to stop the vaunted Ga Tech rushing attack and did just that (something many, including posters here, didn't believe was possible). That shows the coaches know how to do something right. The question is, can they do it week in, and week out with the personnel they have to work with. Things can change from week to week and a team that looks good one week (a good game plan for that match up?) can look bad the next (perhaps not such a good game plan the next time around or perhaps the other team just had a better one).
Bottom line, given the extra time to re-group and prepare for Auburn, I think the Tigers will look at lot different on offense.

we should look a lot better against auburn than florida. if we don't, expect the city of baton rouge to experience the largest rash of suicides in it's history. some may be coaches. auburn doesn't have the d that florida does and my understanding is they don't have that great of a dline. if we can't complete some passes and make some first downs followed by scores, we just may have to implement some big changes.

The problem is that our gameplans have sucked all year.....I just want to see improvement. We can't let the defense get a pass rush with only 3 or 4 lineman rushing, we need our running game to get first downs and keep the offense on the field, we need Jefferson to start throwing the ball quicker and make quicker decisions, we need to run Shepard more. I will be happy if we see those things and win by one point.

I thought our gameplan vs Georgia worked great for the first half. It was complete domination in total yards and time of possession. The problems was they couldn't finish the deal in the redzone.
The second half was a different story. Georgia had the ball for the majority of the 2nd half, and we became conservative on defense. So at least part of our gameplanning was outstanding.

don't know, don't care, just want to see a focused team and a focused QB intent on moving this team. I don't know if JJ or JL or Shep is the answer, lets beat Aubutt and go forward. I'm living in Gump land and having to listen to all the BS......and by the way the Gumps are not to happy with their QB, even with the #1 ranking, per finescum
