Can Crowton Develop a Sound QB Anymore?

I know this guy came here with a lot of hype, and was the OC on a National Championship team his first year with Flynn as the QB. But the last two years have been pretty much disasterous at the QB spot. Either we aren't recruiting good QBs, or Crowton is not developing the recruits we get. If you think we aren't recruiting good ones, Lee was a four star out of high school and JJ was too.
JJ looked good last year in the bowl game. Now he is lost and has shown zero improvement. If anything he seems to have lost confidence and has that deer in the headlights look. The meerkat offense is used to allow coaches to make adjustments to the play call at the last minute as opposed to allow the QB to do it meaning the staff thinks JJ is not capable of checking off, calling audibles, or hot routes on his own. Not a good sign. This of course can cause confusion, illegal shifts, motion penalties, delays of game, etc. All of which we have seen much too frequently.
And we all know what was going on with Jarrett Lee last year, and apparently he's no better or else I cannot explain him not taking at least a series Saturday.
So is Crowton still capable of taking one of these diamonds in the rough and polishing them, or is he just a good play designer? Or are still in the funk that RP left us in having to start a couple of guys much earlier than we otherwise would? Still, even with that, no improvement? None?

no

That's what I'm saying. Neither Lee nor JJ got better with more playing time. I see that as a lack of QB coaching. Crowton just isnt doing it. There needs to be a full time QB coach.

That's part of the problem. There aren't very many freshman and sophomores that have made an immediate impact in the SEC. Tebow, The Mannings & Stafford are the only ones that I can think of.
JJ and JL just aren't very good QBs. That's pretty evident. With that being said, JL is better in my opinion. The problem Crowton is faced with is now he has 2 QBs with little to no confidence. JL showed some fearlessness last season. He kept throwing it even though it produced some bad results. JJ just can't do anything. He looks at best a 3rd string QB.

I agree we probably need a full time QB coach now and not have Crowton share those duties. But Crowton was responsible for Dennis Dixon, and he was pretty good.
I'm afraid at this point we have ruined both JL and JJ by throwing them out there before they were ready and before they were prepared.
My God, JJ doesn't even know how to drop back without breaking down your pocket. Or how to step up to avoid the rush. Or how to pull it down and run straight up the middle to get a few yards instead of running sideways to lose 10+ yards. It is incredible for someone who is a four star QB recruit at a perennial BCS contender in their second full year.

so you dont think JJ should be our QB? i would rather him take a sack then just throw the ball up for grabs. you wont lose a game on sacks, but can lose on int's.

It seems lsu is playing field position and sound defense. They don't mind keeping it low scoring as long as we don't give the opponent ample oppurtunities with turnovers. I wouldn't be surprised if it is preached to JJ if the play is not their just eat it.
