Miss. St. and UGA NEAR losses

I'm confused as to why people are saying that "LSU was a goal line stop away from losing to Miss. St." and "LSU beat UGA thanks to a bogus penalty".
I guess they don't check things like time left in the game. It's not as if these things occurred with no time left.
There was well over a minute left when we played Miss. St. Heck, we got the ball back, ran 4 plays, punted, and then they had a series. Even if they had scored on the goal line, it was necessarily the end of the game.
And with UGA, if there's no penalty, maybe Holliday still runs it back. Maybe we get it at the 20 and still score. Even so, UGA got the ball back with twice as much time as it took us score!!
I just love how LSU games are spun these days. We play close and win and it's something the other team or refs did/didn't do.
It's like I said before, when I hear "LSU won but.." all I care about is 'LSU won'. Better to win ugly than lose pretty or have to make excuses.

The goal is not to discuss the game intelligently, it's to say controversial 'bumper sticker' type one liners that piss people off and get them to talk and watch.

IMO, the real story isn't whether LSU won or not, it's why was the MSU game was so close...

We won and that's all that I care about

There's over a 90% chance that if MSU punches it in, LSU loses. That's what people mean.

& they couldn't score. That's the point. The odds are heavily against you in their situation.
Doesn't mean you can't score & Holliday's return was much more important than the 15 yard penalty. Drive would have started on LSU's 45 instead of UG's 40. Not the determining factor in the outcome of this game.

Where'd you find that stat?

All LSU has to do is beat Florida and all this talk will be forgotten.

I wish it were that simple. There will be little talk of LSU. The story will be mainly Tebow, whether or not he plays and whether or not Florida wins. No matter what happens or what anyone says, we win this game and they still say we're overrated, etc, etc

I love it when people say we're overrated, as long as we keep winning. It's embarrassing for them, not us.

quote:Should be but I doubt it....USC will still somehow be ranked ahead of us. "Tebow blah, blah, blah." "USC playing so much better since the loss blah, blah, blah." "But LSU didn't, couldn't, barely, got lucky blah, blah, blah."

We were a Florida Fourth down stop from winning the title.
We were a Jerard Powers batdown of a TD pass to Byrd from winning the title.
We were an Alabama Fourth down stop from winning the title.
A win is a win.

LSU beats Florida and talk turns to either
(A) LSU beat Florida without Tebow
(B) LSU beat Florida with a Tebow recovering from a concussion
If Auburn beats Tennessee this weekend and we knock them off after our bye week, then, the talk MIGHT stop.
