West: Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Northwestern, Purdue, Wisconsin
East: Cincinnati, Indiana, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State

Same rotation as SEC (one permanent rival + 2 rotating interdivision spots).

Illinois - Indiana
Iowa - Michigan State
Minnesota - Michigan
Northwestern - Cincinnati
Purdue - Indiana
Wisconsin - Ohio State

this would almost assuredly cause the big east to lose their auto-bid unless they put the screws to Notre Dame, telling them to get fricked in every other sport if you don't want to play football.

the big 12 has a much better rotation

and while we're talking expansion, the only teams that make sense for the Pac 10 would be Utah and BYU, based on their basketball travel schedules.

Pac 10 North - Northern California and the states of Oregon and Washington
Pac 10 South - Southern California and the states of Arizona and Utah

It would be more than stupid to put Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State in the same division. That would guarantee one undeserving team in the championship game and one deserving team left out of the championship game.

OSU would block Cinci joining to the point that it wouldn't happen. Pitt is a little more likely, IMO.

I can definitely see that happening

wouldn't Penn St go for the block there?

They most likely would, but I can see them as being progressive enough that they'd welcome the challenge.

OSU wants supremacy in Ohio and to keep it completely locked down - thats why they don't play that often in football. OSU has absolutely zero to gain by Cinci joining the Big10 or playing them more.

Mizzou is most likely to join out there IMO.

I doubt it, they are set up pretty well in the Big XII north. All their old Big 8 foes are there, plus they play Illinois regularly anyway bolstering their OOC schedule.

I love it when people post things and they don't know what they're talking about.

Hypothetical B10CG matchups based on actual standings:
2008: PSU 7-1 vs. NW 5-3 (OSU 7-1, MSU 6-2)
2007: OSU 7-1 vs. IL 6-2 (MI 6-2)
2006: OSU 8-0 vs. WI 7-1 (MI 7-1)
2005: PSU 7-1 vs. NW 5-3 (OSU 7-1, IA 5-3, WI 5-3)
2004: MI 7-1 vs. IA 7-1 (no ties)
2003: MI 7-1 vs. PU 6-2 (OSU 6-2)
2002: OSU 8-0 vs. IA 8-0
2001: IL 7-1 vs. MI 6-2 (no ties)

Only twice this decade has an eastern team not won the division and had a better record than the hypothetical western champ.

Your claim is bogus.

The Big XII passed a resolution that if Mizz were ever to leave, they would have to pay $4million. Don't count on it.

The Big10 wipes its arse with $4million dollars, son.
That number is so insignificant.

Not bad but the Big Ten WILL NOT do it without ND.

Then why is Michigan's athletic department in the red?

Iowa St. Would make sense but they currently suck bad.

I wish the NCAA would force ND into a conference.

I have no doubt the Big10 would pay the $4m buyout.

Coaches are making close to $4m annually - you act like that's some outrageous number.

cincy does not even have close to the academic resources required to be included in the big ten.

I'm assuming it is supposed to be Penn State-Illinois.

What three teams in the Big Ten played each other every year in this cycle? Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State. Everyone else gets a bye on one of these on a regular basis. What three teams dominate the standings you've posted this decade? Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State. Six of the eight years you've posted one of those teams equaled or bettered the conference record of your mythical west division champion. In the three years you've listed with ties the team that you've left out from the east BEAT the west winner (Michigan vs. Illinois in 2007, Michigan vs. Wisconsin in 2006 and Ohio State vs. Purdue in 2003).

So research past the general records next time and you'll produce better information.

Look at the SEC. We have plenty of big time coaches and programs In both divisions.
