crowd atmosphere

I might be a little biased but i really think LSU has one of the best stadium atmospheres and how into the game LSU fans are. Many will say " well duh" but im sure everyone says that about their own school.
Ive been to games at Auburn, Ole Miss, and MSU.
All of the times ive been in the student sections and i feel disappointed. LSU student section has so much more energy, better chants, etc... and im glad to be a part of it.

The chants are teh ghey. There is no reason to do a dance when your team gets sacked on 2nd & 15. You should not unfurl a banner or pass out beach balls when a player is lying on the ground in pain.
I have actually been greatly upset with the section for most of my time at LSU.

Crappy timing, I'm sorta willing to give them a bye there though

truly f'd up and I never ever want to see that crap again. friend of mine sits by me and i gripe about this last week, he just kinda goes yeah I guess. I'll say it again here, if a team like Florida does that while we have a player down LSU would be screaming bloody murder over it.
The section has its perks and it has its stupidity, but we're students and no ones perfects.
At least we ain't chanting "Purple Gold"

i dont think the beach balls were thrown in the air b/c of the injury or a celebration of the injury... so i dont see anything wrong with that...

It is plainly disrespectful. You want to beat the shite out of a team and you want to embarrass them and will say horrible things to them whenever you see them.
But when a young man's future is in jeopardy, all bets are off regardless of what team he plays for.

That's my problem with the timing, had nothing to do with the reasoning. I already find the beach balls and wave pretty dumb, but neither should happen while there's an injury on the field, makes you look like you don't care that a young guy, mostly around your age or younger may have lost a season which could hurt him career wise
ETA: it's easy to be like, "It's whatever" but we all know that if Georgia's SS does something like that while a Chad Jones or whatnot is lying on the field and they're getting the cart, this board and our fans would lose our minds.

i mean yea obviously if this was done intentionally... which i doubt... i would agree with you
but really why do we all need to be politically correct with this stuff... its really NOT a big deal at all!!!!!!! I'm pretty sure that guy on the ground could care less what was going on in the student section of LSU

It's a matter of morality and it frustrates me to no end that I'm surrounded people that don't understand the code of ethics that surrounds college football.
You don't make light of an injury
You don't cascade dissent onto your own team
You don't make noise when your offense is on the field
You don't sit down in the Student Section
You don't come in a half-hour before kickoff and expect to sit in the front row.
Nobody understands these things anymore, other than lsudiva, myself, and those individuals I go to the games with, and precious few others.

Thank God we have you to keep the other 93,000 of us right.

Screw that, I'm not going to go out of my way to correct everyone else. It's not worth my time to attempt to change the behavior of such as massive group.

people sit in the student section??? really?? I'm pretty sure those are the people that are at the way top, and sit up there so they can sit... nothing wrong with that, if they want to sit let em sit... and back in the day the students didnt stand the entire game, a lot of them sat...

when was this done?

I stand in the front row every game. When we played ULL, I was told that I would need to move because a girl that came in half an hour before kickoff would need to sit down during the game. During timeouts, the entire section around me took a seat and remained seated for several minutes after play resumed.
It makes me sick. I wait outside of the stadium 3 hours before the gates open so I can get a good view. People like that sneak in at the last minute and push their way in so that the cameras can get a good view of them.
I can't be sure of when it was. I know it happened against Vanderbilt but there were a few players injured in that game.

i was front row for the bama game... let me just say OVERRATED a lot better view 30 rows higher, actually get to see the other end of the field...
sorry to hear about your run in, stand your ground next time... and sitting down during timeouts is not bad... i need a break every know and then, plus tv timeouts are long as frick... no need to go crazy if people sit during TOs

I've considered this a few times, but I've been sitting in the front row for 2 years now and at this time, it's more of a desire not to break tradition than anything else. I've established a ritual.
As far as time-outs go, I don't care what people do, as long as they're back on their feet for the game. And for what it's worth, I don't budge for anybody when it comes to my game experience.

granted i'm willing to give up both the wave and beach ball argument if they don't play jo bros or miley cyrus during pregame ever again ...

I'm 100% in support of Tiger Band providing all the music that we hear in the stadium.
