Maybe it is dumb, but why can't anyone support their argument with a factual response? Is it because there isn't one?

I'm just playing Devil's advocate here. Someone illustrate that Saban is better than Miles through facts, not because he "shouts" more on the sideline or some bullshite thing like that.

I've been on here long enough and read enough posts that provide half-arse arguments to why he was soooo much better.

I backed my argument with facts. Miles has done better during his tenure than Saban did during his.

Prove me wrong!!

anyone???????

It's not all about facts. I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you, but strictly looking at stats doesn't tell the whole story. Example: Do you REALLY think LSU is better at night in TS? Probably not - that record (compared to the daytime record) is largely due to LSU playing much better teams during the day because they were moved for TV.

Now, subjectivity doesn't tell the whole story either, and the facts you gave provide a strong argument for Miles. However, here are some subjective points for you to consider:

1) The program was in better shape when Miles came to LSU. By leaps and bounds? No - DiNardo had recruited good players too. But Miles still inherited a better situation. You can even throw in FACTS (related to facilities in place) to back this up.

2) I can think of games both coaches should not have lost. This might be a wash.
Saban: UAB 00, Ole Miss 01, Florida 03, Iowa 04 (05).
Miles: Tennessee 05, Auburn 06, Kentucky 07, Arkansas 07

3) To me, and to many others, Miles is not a good "in-game" coach. He's messed up simple things like timeouts and clock management.
