More fundamentally sound under Miles?

Those who were stepping up to apologize for Miles side stepped this point/question.
Do you believe a Miles coached team is more fundamentally sound than his predecessor or SEC peers?
My belief is no.

hard to say yes when you look at LSU compared to bama at the moment. hopefully 1130 pm just happens to be everyone's usual bed time and we will be killing machines this weekend vs vandy.

I'm a Miles supporter (not an apologist because I don't think he should be apologizing to anyone) and I would say no, in general his teams are not as fundamentally sound.
What I would say, though, is that I've enjoyed the Championships he's won here at LSU. I've enjoyed the 20-0 record against non-conference opponents (can our predecessor say that?). I've enjoyed the blow out wins in BCS bowl games (our predecessor had a blow out in a BCS bowl game... too bad it was him being blown out).
Miles plays a less rigid style of ball and it seems to work. I'd rather be bitching about a closer than expected win than excited about a closer than expected loss (where Washington is and where LSU has been in the past). As long as we play better on the scoreboard, who gives a rats arse if our predecessor or SEC peers play better "fundamentally?"

What do you mean by fundamentally sound? Saban's defense got "lit up" (e.g., Iowa State, Arkansas, UF in the Zook loss, etc., etc., etc.) more than a few times but, it was still sound in the sense that conceptually it made sense.
Miles' defense under Pelini was fundamentally sound. Miles' defense under co-coordinators was fundamentally sound but flawed in execution.
John Chavis' credentials are as good as anyone in the country regarding defensive productivty. Coach Cooper came from South Carolina where they had the best defense against pass in SEC last year. Brick Haley is a proven NFL and college coach.
I seem to recall ALL of our recent teams having more than their share of trouble in certain games with certain schemes, Saban's included (Remember the LONG 4th down pass that Auburn completed in the 10-9 ball game and the winning TD catch shortly after? Wasn't a man within 3 yards of him)
Locker is the real deal and, there's one huge X factor being overlooked. . .UW is still not in school and not subject to the 20 hr rule/week. Those guys ate/drank/slept LSU and game prep. They looked like they had played 3 games and LSU was playing their first game. Still, LSU wins (and gets after them pretty well in the 2nd half on defense). The 20 hr rule needs to be changed to eliminate this situation.
So yeah, absolutely, LSU is as fundameentally sound as ANY SEC team. The combination of coaching and conditioning is as good as you'll find.

Uhhhhh no
Fundamentals are things like tackling, getting in formation, running good routes, not jumping off sides

wow. you people have short memories. what happened in '02 at ark and against iowa in '04 were completely inexcusible. absolute, utter breakdown/meltdown.
anybody remember s. car '02?
do i even need to bring up uab?
tenn '02
bama '02 was one of the worst tiger beatdowns i have ever seen. as bad as the 90's games against fla/spurrier

Bla, bla, bla. All Miles does is win. Most winning coach in LSU history. Who cares about the other stuff. Winning is the only thing that counts.

defensive folks don't run pass routes
the question was alluded to the defense being fundamentally sound and my reply addressed the concepts being sound but the execution was not
execution would include some of the things you mentioned
