Yeah, that what a couple of other people told me. Who knew. I understand that whole concept but for some reason this summer decided to ignore it. I put down miracle grow and watered about twice a week. And got nothing but beautiful green plants with no flowers.
I also got a good bit of basil and did basically the same as someone else said: i wash it clean, put it in the food processor with olive oil and grated parmesan cheese, freeze it in ice trays, then pop em out into ziplock bags. the bomb.

I had 3 pepper plants.
Bell pepper in the ground = dead.
Chili pepper in 3 gallon pot = dying.
Cayenne pepper in a Topsy Turvy = doing well.
Grapeleaves = spreading like wildfire.
Meyer lemon = getting ripe.
I just started a few months ago, so that's all I got. Been mostly eradicating overgrowth, bushes, weed trees, and very persistent weeds.

Anyone care to share photos of anything in their gardens? I'm purely learning from the internet as I don't know anyone who grows. Arabs gave me sticks and helped me with the grape leaves, but that's it. (You just bury a stick and it grows like a weed.)
