I think it's hilarious whenever that one sportscaster says "LSU" after highlights of former players (Hawpe, Theriot, Fontenot, etc.).
Anyone know the story behind this?

Below is is bio from ESPN. Guess he feel in love with the Tigers during his days in New Orleans.
Stan Verrett joined ESPNEWS as an anchor in September 2000, and now anchors SportsCenter in addition to hosting Friday Night Fights and NBA Fastbreak. Prior to ESPN, Verrett worked as a weekend sports anchor and reporter at WDSU-TV in New Orleans, La. Verrett's career includes serving as sports anchor and reporter in Norfolk, Va. with the city's ABC affiliate station WVEC-TV and WAVY-TV, the NBC affiliate station. He was also a top-rated morning show personality at several radio stations in Washington, D.C., Charleston, S.C. and Norfolk. Verrett is a graduate of Howard University in Washington, D.C. where he was selected as one of the two outstanding graduates in journalism for 1989.

He used to post on here as espnsaint I believe. I remember him posting that he went to St. Aug and his dream was to play football for LSU and the Saints, but he got lit up once in high school and decided to stick w/ journalism. He's always giving LSU and their alumni love on Sportcenter.

I knew Stanley growing up.
He's good people.
Comes from a good family.
His father was well respected in New Orleans.
There's a lot of things that suck about ESPN, but they got it right when they hired Stan.

I just love how he'll sneak in an "LSU" under his breath like that Kevin Nealon character on SNL.
We may never know, but he could be subliminally recruiting for us each time an LSU player gets a good play on TV by mentioning the team that player came from.
