Tell me why I shouldn't bet everything I have on LSU -16.5 at Washington. I just can't justify not putting a massive wager on this game. I turn to the rant for their sage advice on this subject.

I was thinking the same thing, but shite happens. UW has some decent receivers and our secondary is? A couple of busted coverages, an interception here, a fumble there, etc.

Good chance since we were 3-8 against the spread last year. 0-6 at home and 2-2 on the road but 2-5 when favored.

-Bookmakers are WAY smarter than we are. The line is what it is for a reason.

-It's the first game of the year, and it is in a foreign place. The home team has a new coach and a renewed enthusiasm that may carry them for a little while in this game.

-LSU 22, Oregon St. 21 in OT to open season once...that should do it right there.

Never bet too much on the season opener. Even the best teams sometimes look a bit sluggish on opening weekend.

1) An opposing QB that could finally play up to his high potential, now that he has a decent coaching staff.
2) The game is across the country,
3) on the road,
4) and is the first game of the season.

Betting on LSU to cover over 17 isn't a very good bet, even though we could easily destroy Washington.

Now I disagree with that. Early games are money. After that the bookies get better lines on them. Just wouldn't bet on LSU, given our history, but there'll be some money-makers out there.

this is not good advice. vegas is most vulnerable the first few weeks of the season before they get a feel of a team...this is when u make your $$$...put the mortgage on it...i feel like we'll be up 21-0 at the end of 1.

UDub, new coach. LSU, new defense. It will not be a blowout.
