Harry's just down the street is probably the closest you'll get to decent Cajun food. It's decent, but most true Cajun's would probably thumb there nose up at it because half the dishes are not really Cajun...

Jax,

Too bad you never ate at the original Harry's at the Jacksonville Landing. It opened in 1987 as a seafood market/oyster bar. My brother moved over here in January of '88 and joined up with them. To this day the Harry's owner will tell you that my brother is the reason that the franchise went in "New Orleans atmosphere" direction.

The cajun food at the Landing Harry's from 1988 til at least 1997 was OUTSTANDING!! Truly authentic. I came over in 1990 and managed it from '91 to '97, while my brother went around and helped open other stores. He went back to Baton Rouge in '97 and I left to finish school at UNF. Without us, but more specifically him, the cajun dishes at Harry's these days aren't nearly as good as what we served at the Landing.
