I've heard EA Sports say about this year's version is that the game play was going to be slowed down in comparison to years past...

in comparison to other players. Jackson (eagles) is very fast.

Also, offensive players are faster than the defenders. Coltson shouldn't be able to catch a quick slant over the middle and out run everyone for a touchdown, especially against the Patriots.

Meachem is too slow as well. The have Reggie as a 79 overall even though he was leading the NFL in all-purpose yards and TD's last season and the one thing he does have is tons of speed

Reggie has been hurt in every NFL season he plays in.

He fumbles often, has no power.

But he is fast, he should be more like a 86-89 IMO.

ok, have no problem with him having injuries

he has power in the open field, has a great stiff arm

exactly, he certainly isn't a 79, and he certainly isn't slow. He led in all-purpose yards and TD's last season before his injury, so he's an explosive weapn, my favorite one to use on madden (now i'm gonna have to use the eagles online).

Also, Meachem is not that slow compared to devery

Depends, how many times Colston did that. If it was once, no biggie, it could happen.

True about the speed, but I think Reggie may be one of the tougher guys to rate in this game. He hasn't shown the ability to do anything really good. The other problem, in the game, he's a running back, and he certainly doesn't deserve a rating above 80 as a running back. His receiving skills should definitely help him some, but when you consider his fumbles and drops in real life, it's hard to give the guy an 85 rating or so. 79 may be a bit low, but I'm not so sure he deserves much higher.

When you consider the new ratings system, there is really no way Reggie deserves a rating between 86 and 89.

What are there speed ratings in the game?

The default speed is, and i hated it. but you can change it from slow to medium or fast. I switched it to fast and its like NCAA, much better imo.

Absolutely not.

RBs rated 89-86:
Matt Forte-89
Maurice Jones-Drew-89
Marion Barber-88
Chris Johnson-88
Larry Johnson-88
Steve Slaton-87
Willie Parker-86

Reggie is not on their level.

RBs rated just above Reggie:
Jamaal Lewis-85
Ryan Grant-85
Joseph Addai-85
Derrick Ward-84
Willis McGahee-83
Kevin Smith-80
Regie Bush-79

You could maybe argue that he could be above a few of those guys only because they're coming off bad years, but they're still more proven than Reggie.

Good post man.

And like you said, you could argue him bein ahead of a couple of those guys, but overall, it looks pretty good.

And no way should be in the 86-89 range.

Lower the speed threshold to about 30 and you'll see more of a difference between the fast and slow guys.

BTW, this game is great. I'm 3-1 in franchise mode right now with the Saints and all the games, execpt the first one vs. the Lions have been really close. I lost to the Eagles in OT (48-42...damn unstopable Westbrook), beat the Bills on a last second kick return with Skyler Green (24-17), and held the Jets from scoring on the last possesion of the game (31-24).

And just like the real Saints, my running game is shite and my passing defense leaves a lot to be desired.

ETA: I play on the very slow speed setting. Don't know why but I really like it.

Speaking of Reggie Bush, my friend brought his copy of Madden over, and I busted a big 80 yard TD run against the Eagles with Reggie Bush, and after he scored, he did the stupid USC two finger shaped like a "V" for victory wave.

It's because Reggie Bush is less than a RB.
