RedBox DVD kiosks hitting video sales?

Fox has put a 30 day delay on DVD's available to the $1 per day DVD rental kiosks because they think it's cutting in to DVD sales. I rarely buy DVD's but I just can't see how cheap rental = lost sales. If you use Redbox instead of Blockbuster or NetFlix I'd say the chances are that you weren't going to pay $14 more to own the DVD.
